Created Controls article with full keyboard and mouse tables (character, building, menus, ship) and a controller layout table for Xbox and PlayStation inputs.
Windrose supports both keyboard and mouse input and controller input on PC. The default bindings are organized into five contexts: on-foot character action, build mode, menus, ship helm, and controller layout. Keyboard and mouse bindings can be remapped in the settings menu. Controller bindings are not rebindable in the current early access build; players who want custom controller bindings can use Steam Input community presets.
These bindings apply while the player is on foot. Combat inputs (light attack, heavy attack, block, aim, and reload) all live on the mouse. The Dash action is on a separate key from Sprint, which lets the player perform a quick roll while already sprinting.

Pressing B toggles Building Mode. While building is active the left and right mouse buttons change their meaning, and the mouse scroll rotates the selected piece. Snapping Mode (P) and Shift Block (Z) give fine-grained control over piece alignment.

Menu contexts reuse many of the same keys across different tabs, so Q and E are the universal previous-tab and next-tab keys almost everywhere. Story pages use a separate set of navigation bindings because they behave like a picture-book reader instead of a standard UI.

At the helm the camera switches to a sailing-oriented third-person view. WASD steers and throttles the Ship, while the mouse buttons aim and fire cannons. Number keys 1 and 2 swap ammunition between standard Cannonballs and Chain Shots for disabling enemy sails.

Controller support is present in early access but is not as polished as keyboard and mouse. The layout below covers Xbox bindings and their PlayStation equivalents via Steam Input. Unsupported controllers can still be used through Steam Input community presets.

Keyboard and mouse bindings can be remapped from the in-game settings menu. Controller bindings cannot be remapped in the client in the current early access build. Players who need a different controller layout should create a custom Steam Input configuration and apply it to the game.
Several menu keys double up with character keys (Q, E, and the Space bar). The context the player is in determines which action fires.
The Shovel changes modes with the 2 and 3 keys, not the mouse wheel, which differs from build mode's rotation binding.
Middle mouse button is used both for Block while on foot and for Toggle Destroy Mode while in build mode.
Special Attack on keyboard is F. On controller, it is bound to LB + RB (L1 + R1 on PlayStation) pressed together.
