Blackbeard's Flag is a ship cosmetic in Windrose featuring a skeleton holding an hourglass and a spear aimed at a bleeding heart. It is equipped at a Wharf to customize a ship's flagstaff, and like other flags it is bound to the character rather than to one ship.
In one hand, the skeleton holds an hourglass; in the other, a spear aimed at a bleeding heart.
Sail to a player-built Wharf and dock the ship there.
Approach the Wharf and open the Manage Ship menu.
Switch to the Customization tab and open the Flag option list.
Select Blackbeard's Flag and confirm. Customisation itself does not cost coin once the design is unlocked.
A baseline cosmetic option available at any Wharf. No Style Book purchase is required to apply this design, which puts it in the same always-available group as the plain Black Flag. Faction-themed flags, by contrast, must be unlocked from a style book before they appear in the list.

The in-game design matches the flag historically attributed to Edward Teach, the English pirate better known as Blackbeard, who terrorised the Caribbean and the Atlantic seaboard from 1716 to 1718. Period accounts describe his flag as a skeleton holding an hourglass and piercing a bleeding heart with a spear, with the hourglass meant to warn enemies that their time was running out and the dripping heart standing for the death that would follow if they refused to surrender quickly.
Flag changes are visible to other players in PvE and PvP, so the design you fly is also a signal of which faction you currently care about.
Designs are bound to the character that read the matching Style Book, not to a specific ship, so all of a character's owned ships can use any unlocked flag.
A flag does not affect ship stats. It is purely cosmetic, so swap it freely without worrying about a damage or speed penalty.
Because Blackbeard sailed under the broader Brethren of the Coast banner in the game's setting, players who want a matched set often pair this flag with paints from the Style Book: Brethren Hull Colors.
Style Book: Brethren Flag Designs: the Brethren collection, including the Brethren of the Coast Flag.
Black Flag: the other baseline, markings-free flag.
Stede Bonnet's Flag and Rogue Buccaneer's Flag: further pirate-captain flag options.
