Ancient Swamp Key is a region-locked chest key. The key is consumed when used and opens one Ancient chest at a time, of the matching biome. The Swamp key is the third-tier chest key, opening Ancient chests in the Cursed Swamp and similar high-level wetland zones.

A round stone disk covered in faint, intricate patterns and mysterious inscriptions.

How to Use

Carry the Ancient Swamp Key into the matching biome and stand in front of any Ancient chest in that biome. Interact with the chest to consume the key and open the lock. The chest then drops its loot table, which can include Silver Ingots, region-specific resources, recipe papers, and rolling chance entries for higher-tier crafting blueprints.

Region keys are biome-specific. A Foothills key cannot open a Swamp chest, so sort the inventory by destination before sailing.

Where to Find

Drops from defeated enemies and looted chests in the the Cursed Swamp, plus from world events and treasure caches scattered across the region. Stack size is 20, so a single inventory slot easily covers a full sweep of one biome before having to drop excess back at base.

Tips

• Ancient chest contents are bound to the server's loot cycle. Open chests during a single play session rather than letting keys sit between server restarts to avoid resetting the rolls.

• Carry a Shovel as well as keys. Some Ancient chests are buried under cairns and require digging to expose before the key prompt appears.

• If a key has a quest tag in the inventory, save it for the quest objective rather than spending it on a generic chest. Side quests sometimes consume the key as a turn-in instead.
