Warhammer Survivors pits its champions against endless swarms from six enemy factions, three in each universe. Nearly every stage is built around one faction, and each faction has its own Extremis Boss (see Bosses). Within a faction, most enemies are fodder, but several have unique behaviours and skills that challenge a familiar weapon build.
Faction | Universe | Revealed | Known Stages |
|---|---|---|---|
Tyranids | Warhammer 40,000 | November 4, 2025 | Imperial Bastion |
Orks | Warhammer 40,000 | April 9, 2026 | Ork Stronghold |
Death Guard | Warhammer 40,000 | May 21, 2026 | Gallowdark |
Skaven | Warhammer Age of Sigmar | November 4, 2025 | The Great Parch, Hammerhal |
Blades of Khorne | Warhammer Age of Sigmar | May 21, 2026 | Hammerhal |
Gloomspite Gitz | Warhammer Age of Sigmar | October 6, 2026 | Not stated |
Enemy skills let certain units move unpredictably, charge suddenly, heal, or flee only to return. Faction Traits are extra mechanics inspired by the tabletop game that affect a whole faction, such as unique behaviours or damage resistances. As of October 2026, two Faction Traits have been detailed: the Tyranids' Synapse and the Orks' Waaagh!.
In Warhammer 40,000 the Tyranids are a swarm of alien bioforms directed by a Hive Mind. In the game they appear as a ravenous swarm of large and small bioforms, and they were one of the two factions in the first Demo.
Enemy | Behaviour in the Game |
|---|---|
Hive Tyrant | A Synapse creature that drives nearby lesser bioforms into a rage |
Termagants and Hormagaunts | Swarm units made Berserk (faster, more damaging) by nearby Synapse |
Von Ryan's Leaper | Uses Pounce: rears up and leaps over other enemies to strike the player |
Synapse trait: Synapse creatures buff their brood, and destroying them leaves nearby lesser bioforms in a temporary stunned, weakened state. Auroch advises killing Synapse creatures quickly to avoid being overrun.
The Orks were revealed in April 2026 on the new Ork Stronghold stage. They throw many different enemy types at the player, from Grots and Bomb Squigs to Ork Boyz and Lootas firing across the battlefield. Their leader and Extremis Boss is Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.
Waaagh! trait: when the screen starts turning red, a Waaagh! is coming. During it, Orks spawn in greater numbers and become frenzied.
The Death Guard, heretic Chaos Space Marines devoted to Nurgle, were revealed at the Warhammer Skulls showcase in May 2026. They are durable and slow, and they stomp through the corridors of the Gallowdark stage. Other units seen include Poxwalkers, Plaguebearers, Plague Marines and Blightlord Terminators, with more not yet shown.
Enemy | Behaviour in the Game |
|---|---|
Myphitic Blight-Hauler | Bombards the player from range with frag missiles that explode and apply Poisoned |
Beast of Nurgle | Charges the player, pausing only to regenerate; near death it enters a frenzy and then explodes |
Miasmic Malignifier | A stationary and particularly resilient enemy that emits pockets of poison fog around it |
The Skaven ratmen were one of the first two factions revealed and the Age of Sigmar faction in the first demo. Their ranks range from the lowly Clanrat to the Rat Ogor, and they use warpstone weapons and dark sorcery.
Enemy | Behaviour in the Game |
|---|---|
Clanrat | Basic Skaven infantry |
Rat Ogor | At low health unleashes Warp Fury, gaining resistance to knockback plus more power and speed |
Ratling Gunner | Crosses the screen firing a hail of bullets, leaving damaging hazard zones that box the player in |
Bell of Doom | An endless spell that grants nearby Skaven the Warded status |
Acolyte Globadier | Throws toxic globes that leave clouds of poison |
The Blades of Khorne, bloodthirsty daemons and mortal followers of the Blood God, were revealed in May 2026. On the Hammerhal stage they attack from one side of the city while Skaven attack from the other. Bloodreavers and Blood Warriors also appear among them.
Enemy | Behaviour in the Game |
|---|---|
Flesh Hound | Moves at exceptional speed and hunts in packs that swarm the player |
Bloodcrusher | Rears up to charge, shown by a red telegraphed zone, then launches forward and only stops if slain |
Skull Cannon | Fires flaming skulls at the player with explosive force |
The Gloomspite Gitz were revealed on October 6, 2026 alongside the release date. These fungus-addled grots march in large numbers and bring monsters with them, from ravenous Squigs to towering Troggoths. As of October 15, 2026, no individual unit behaviours or stage for the Gitz have been detailed.
Boss fights are covered in Bosses, battlefields in Stages, and the effects enemies apply in Status Effects.
