Some weapons in Warhammer Survivors do more than deal damage: they leave enemies with temporary status effects that help wear down tougher units or deal with sudden threats. Some status effects are positive, and both enemies and champions can be affected. Some enemies are immune to certain effects. Auroch Digital introduced the system in May 2026 and showed it in action in the first Feature Focus video on August 5, 2026.
Confirmed Status Effects
Status Effect | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Burning | Damage over time | Deals fire damage over time, but panicked enemies move faster |
Poisoned | Damage over time | Deals poison damage over time and slows the target |
Oiled | Debuff | Applied by Nuln Oil; slows enemies and makes them vulnerable to fire damage |
Stunned | Control | Temporarily halts movement, though not attacks |
Frenzied | Buff | Raises damage, health and movement speed; some enemies get it from auras |
Berserk | Buff | On the player (via Frenzon), increases weapon attack frequency; on Tyranids under Synapse, raises movement speed and damage |
Healing | Buff | Gradually restores lost health, for enemies or champions |
Warded | Buff | Granted to Skaven by the Bell of Doom, making them tougher and more resilient |
Combining Effects
Burning and Poisoned both chip away at tough enemies and bosses, but they change movement in opposite ways: burning enemies speed up while poisoned enemies slow down. The best-documented combination is Oiled with Burning: Nuln Oil raises the damage that fire weapons deal to doused enemies.
Effects on Champions
Champions can be hit by status effects too. The Death Guard are especially good at poisoning the player with noxious auras and weapon attacks, while Myphitic Blight-haulers and Acolyte Globadiers also inflict poison. On the positive side, the Frenzon pick-up makes the champion Berserk, and Healing helps a champion low on health.
Effects Used by Enemies
Tyranid Synapse creatures such as the Hive Tyrant make nearby Termagants and Hormagaunts Berserk; killing the Synapse creature stuns those lesser bioforms for a moment.
During an Ork Waaagh!, Orks spawn in greater numbers and become frenzied.
The Skaven Bell of Doom grants nearby Skaven the Warded status.
Enemies with Healing regenerate, which the developer warns can be troublesome.
As of October 2026 these are only some of the status effects; Auroch says the full list will be revealed at launch. Related systems are described on the Pick-Ups, Enemy Factions and Weapons and Evolutions pages.
