Added President Bato (reelection-campaign figure) to the city backdrop
Vilasapara is the central setting of Virtua Fighter Crossroads, a fictional metropolis in Southeast Asia widely known as the City of Martial Arts. The story takes place in the year 20XX. Rather than serving as a static backdrop, the city is presented as a living, explorable space that players move through in third person between fights.
The city is divided into distinct areas. Confirmed locations include a walled central city, lively entertainment districts, and resort districts. Each district is dotted with side quests and activities, encouraging players to wander, talk to locals, and take on optional challenges in addition to the main story.
District | Description |
|---|---|
Walled central city | The fortified heart of Vilasapara |
Entertainment districts | Lively areas built around nightlife and activity |
Resort districts | Leisure and resort areas to explore |
Martial arts define daily life in Vilasapara, and the city hosts an underground fighting tournament known as the Vila Fight Fest. A strict local law looms over everything: the use of firearms within the city is punishable by death, which keeps conflicts settled with fists rather than guns.
An accord known as the Arma Carta ended an earlier era of bloodshed, leaving the city's crime syndicates in a tense, uneasy balance. That balance frays as the story begins. A string of attacks attributed to a figure called the Bakunawa Killer hangs over the city, and a criminal underworld operates in the shadows of the districts. These threads tie the city's everyday martial-arts culture to the darker events that pull the four protagonists together in Story Mode. Against this backdrop, civic life carries on as well: a reelection campaign by a local figure known as President Bato is part of the city’s public stage as the events unfold.
