Virtua Fighter Crossroads is scheduled to release in 2027. It was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026 after spending its early development under the working name Virtua Fighter New Project.
As of September 2026, the platforms have not been announced. SEGA's own product listing for the game still carries a supported-platforms field filled in as undecided, and the price and the number of players are given exactly the same way. The age rating is listed as still to be submitted. The only one of those fields carrying a real value is the release window, and it reads as scheduled for 2027.
Neither the Japanese nor the English official site carries a platform statement of any kind: no platform line, no console logo strip, no store link. Reporting from the day of the announcement said the same thing, that the supported platforms had not been disclosed. Anything in circulation that attaches a specific machine to this game did not come from SEGA.
The project first surfaced earlier under the working name Virtua Fighter New Project, led in that first teaser by a redesigned Akira Yuki, before the full title and setting were shown at Summer Game Fest 2026. Unlike past entries that began in arcades, this one has been aimed at home play from the start.
What SEGA has talked about is direction rather than hardware. Earlier entries in the series were built for arcades first; this one is not. The producer has described it as a game made primarily for home consoles rather than arcades, and he draws a straight line from that to the campaign: releasing on home hardware, in his framing, would be pointless without a substantial single-player experience, which is why Story Mode carries the weight it does. The same reasoning shows up in how the controls are being handled, since a game people play on a pad at home cannot assume everyone owns an arcade stick. None of that is a platform list, and SEGA has not turned it into one.

Beyond the platform and timing, the game is positioned as the next mainline Virtua Fighter, widely counted as the sixth, and the series' first all-new entry in roughly two decades. The studio's own count puts about sixteen years between it and the last base game in the series. Further specifics, including editions, pricing, and a firm release date, have not yet been shared.
Languages and Availability
The official product site publishes in nine languages: English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean. That is the clearest public indication so far of the locales the game is being prepared for, although a formal list of supported in-game languages has not been published.
The team has also said it wants players everywhere to get the same game at the same time. Language support and rolling the game out across platforms are both named as core challenges of the project, which is a statement of intent about breadth rather than a list of machines.
An official product site for the game is now live, and the game has official accounts across the major social platforms alongside a community server. No storefront listing had appeared as of September 2026, so wishlisting, pricing and editions remain unavailable.
