Tears of Metal is planned to enter Early Access in Spring 2026. As of mid-2026 the game has not yet released and is listed as coming soon. It is set to arrive on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, and on Xbox Series X|S through the Xbox digital storefront and the Microsoft Store. The Xbox version is planned to join Game Pass on day one of its Early Access release.

The Xbox announcement was made during the ID@Xbox Spring Showcase in April 2026. The Xbox version supports Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a single purchase on the Microsoft Store provides access on both PC and Xbox Series X|S. An age rating has not been published while the game remains unreleased.

Paper Cult has stated that Early Access will last between 4 and 12 months, depending on feedback. The price of the game is expected to increase when it exits Early Access and moves to full release. No specific full release date has been announced.
The game supports nine languages at launch: English, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish (Latin America).
