Arsiltus is the land in which The Relic: First Guardian takes place. It was once prosperous, but the destruction of the great relic transformed it into an apocalyptic landscape, leaving it in ruins. The store page frames the world through sound as much as sight: through the silence that followed the catastrophe, faint whispers can still be heard on the wind, voices carrying promises, waiting, fear, and love. These lingering voices are the Relics.

A World After Catastrophe

The collapse of Arsiltus is tied directly to the great relic that gives the game its name. With that relic destroyed, the land fell into decline and a blight spread across what was once a peaceful place. The developers describe the setting as dark fantasy, and the world is presented as a journey through the remnants of a fallen civilisation rather than a thriving kingdom. As the First Guardian, your task is to lead this broken world back toward prosperity.
Inspired by Asian Folklore
The world and its stories are inspired by Asian mythology and folklore. The developers have said that each tale within Arsiltus is meant to feel as unique as the player experiencing it, with themes of love, tragedy, and untraditional heroism woven through the land's history. This folklore foundation shapes both the look of the world and the kinds of stories attached to its bosses and its gear.
Relics in the World
Relics are central to how Arsiltus is understood. They are fragments imbued with the emotions and wishes of the people who lived before the fall. Finding and using these Relics is the core of the First Guardian's mission: honouring the memories they hold is framed as the path to restoring the land. For the mechanical side of Relics, see the Relics and Runes System page; this page covers their role in the setting.
Much of the finer geography of Arsiltus, including specific regions, settlements, and landmarks, has not yet been detailed publicly ahead of launch. The developers' showcases have included an exploration-focused look at the world, but named locations are not yet confirmed, so this page will be expanded as that information becomes available.
