Zhang Chulan is the lead character of the source series and one of the confirmed fighters in The Hidden Ones. This page covers what has been shown for him in this game so far; confirmed detail is thin, so it is deliberately short.

Overview

Zhang Chulan is presented as the series lead. The developer's own fighter guide for him goes further than the wiki could previously confirm: it calls him the inheritor of the Qi Origin and the wielder of Yang Thunder, so his thunder-based power is stated for this game rather than carried across from the source series. In the pre-alpha test he was one of the three starting fighters players could use right away, alongside Feng Baobao and Wang Ye.

Combat Style

Yang Thunder is the named half of a pair. The other announced thunder user, Zhang Lingyu, is credited with Yin Thunder in his own guide, which puts the two of them on opposite sides of the yin and yang framing the setting is built on. Whether that translates into a mechanical relationship between the two kits has not been described.

The supernatural side of the Combat System layers mystical techniques on top of the basic attacks, skills, blocks, and dodges that every fighter shares. Like the rest of the roster, his discipline draws on the world's The Eight Secret Arts, the framing used to keep each fighter's moveset distinct.
