Revision 4

The story of Stronghold 4 is told through a cinematic, fully voice-acted campaign. It is framed as a prequel, set several years before the events of the original Stronghold, and presented as the origin of that earlier tale.

The campaign follows Penryn of Wethel, a humble shepherd whose life is upended and who is forced, through trial by fire, to become a leader and commander. Along the way he must contend with hostile outlaws, rival lords, and the harsh elements of the medieval world.

The campaign runs across twenty-two story missions and sits alongside the game's other modes. It is brought to life by a voice cast that includes Ben Starr, Samantha Béart, Walles Hamonde, and Harry McEntire, with an original score by Robert L. Euvino. Beyond Penryn himself, FireFly has not yet revealed the names of other characters or factions in the story. The campaign ships with full voice acting, with full audio available in English, German, and Polish among the game's supported languages. The demo does not include story missions; the campaign's narrative is held back for the early access launch.
