The Rancher profession is mentored by Pastelle at Green Pasture Ranch, located just north of your farmland. It covers animal husbandry, product collection, and the breeding and genetics system. Each tier unlocks new animal types, barns, and breeding equipment.
Prerequisite: You must complete the Apprentice Farmer Certification first. After becoming an Apprentice Farmer, check your mailbox for a letter from Pastelle, then visit her at Green Pasture Ranch to begin.
Tier | Key Unlock |
|---|---|
Apprentice | Rabbit Hutch, Feeder, Brush, Loom |
Junior | Chickens, Ducks, Coops, Premium Wool production |
Intermediate | Breeding House, Pigs, Cows, Sheep, Bees |
Senior | Mounts (Horses, Deer), Stables, Love Feeder, Friendship Collar |
Expert | Alpacas, Ostriches, Auto Milker, Selective Breeding House |
Visit Pastelle at Green Pasture Ranch after reading her letter from your mailbox.
Pastelle gives you a free Rabbit and the blueprints for a Rabbit Hutch, Feeder, and Brush.
Craft the Rabbit Hutch (15 Softwood + 5 Fiber) and place it on your ranch.
Place the Feeder near the hutch and fill it with Weeds or Wild Berries (rabbits eat both).
Use the Brush on your rabbit daily to increase its happiness. Higher happiness means better product quality.
Collect 4 Wool from your rabbit. Wool appears in the rabbit's hutch periodically. Each rabbit produces one Wool roughly once per day when fed and happy.
Deliver the 4 Wool to Pastelle to complete the certification.

Pastelle asks you to craft fabric for Alex at Lex Woodworks.
Craft a Loom (unlocked after becoming Apprentice Rancher).
Process your Wool into 2 Flannel using the Loom.
Deliver the 2 Flannel to Alex.
Return to Pastelle to complete the trial.
Apprentice Rancher Certification
Access to purchase Rabbits (75 coins each) from Pastelle
Loom blueprint (converts Wool into Flannel and other fabrics)
Feeder and Brush blueprints for basic animal care
Speak to Pastelle to start the Junior trial.
Raise your rabbit's happiness to 150 or higher. Happiness increases through daily brushing, keeping the Feeder stocked, and petting your rabbit.
A rabbit with happiness above 150 produces Premium Wool instead of regular Wool.
Collect 2 Premium Wool from your high-happiness rabbit.
Deliver the Premium Wool to Pastelle to complete the certification.
Pastelle asks you to bring Giant Eggs to Solara at the hotel.
Purchase Chickens (300 coins each) from Pastelle. You need at least 2 chickens.
Build a Coop for your chickens and keep them well-fed with Bug Feed or Grain.
Raise chicken happiness above 150 so they produce Giant Eggs instead of regular Eggs.
Collect 2 Giant Eggs and deliver them to Solara.
Return to Pastelle to complete the trial.
Junior Rancher Certification
Access to purchase Chickens (300 coins) and Ducks (300 coins)
Coop blueprint for housing poultry
Incubator blueprint for hatching eggs
Animal | Cost | Products | Special Role |
|---|---|---|---|
Rabbit | 75 coins | Wool, Poop | Eats weeds on your farm |
Chicken | 300 coins | Eggs, Feathers, Poop | Clears bugs and pests (up to 5 per day) |
Duck | 300 coins | Eggs, Feathers, Poop | Eats snails on your farm |
The Intermediate tier introduces the Breeding House, where you can breed animals to produce offspring with genetic traits.
Purchase the Breeding House blueprint from Pastelle (3,500 coins) and build it on your ranch.
Place two rabbits of opposite gender into the Breeding House. If you only have one rabbit, purchase a second from Pastelle.
Wait for the breeding cycle to complete (approximately 1 day). The offspring has a chance of inheriting the Lop-Eared genetic trait.
If the offspring is not Lop-Eared, breed again. The trait is a random mutation, so it may take several attempts.
Show the Lop-Eared Rabbit to Pastelle to complete the certification.
Pastelle asks you to craft colored fabric for Serena.
Purchase a Snowool (White Sheep, 650 coins) and an Ebowool (Black Sheep, 650 coins) from Pastelle.
Collect White Wool and Black Wool from your sheep.
Process the wool at the Loom into colored fabric.
Deliver the colored fabric to Serena.
Return to Pastelle to complete the trial.
Intermediate Rancher Certification
Breeding House blueprint (core breeding facility)
Access to new animals:
Animal | Cost | Products |
|---|---|---|
Pig | 650 coins | Truffles, Poop |
Cow | 650 coins | Milk, Poop |
Snowool (White Sheep) | 650 coins | White Wool, Sheep Saliva, Sheep Milk, Poop |
Ebowool (Black Sheep) | 650 coins | Black Wool, Sheep Saliva, Sheep Milk, Poop |
Queen Bee | 400 coins | Honey |
Before the White Horse trial, Pastelle first asks you to demonstrate genetic breeding mastery by producing a rabbit with 4 positive genetic traits.
Use the Breeding House to pair rabbits that already carry positive genes.
Offspring inherit genes from both parents with a chance of mutation. Aim to stack 4 different positive traits on a single rabbit.
Rabbits are the best choice for gene stacking because of their low cost (75 coins) and fast breeding cooldown.
Show the 4-gene rabbit to Pastelle.
The White Horse is the most challenging breeding goal in the game. White Horses do not spawn in the wild and cannot be purchased. They must be bred through genetic mutation. Plan for 15 to 25 breeding attempts on average.
Purchase Horses (1,350 coins each) from Pastelle. You need at least one male and one female.
Build a Stable and a Love Feeder (boosts breeding success rates).
Place two horses in the Breeding House and wait for offspring.
Check the offspring's coat color. If it is not white, breed the offspring with another horse and repeat.
The white coat is a rare genetic mutation. Keeping parent happiness high and using the Love Feeder improves your odds slightly.
Show the White Horse to Zephyria (not Pastelle) to complete the trial.
While breeding for the White Horse, try to pass along these positive traits to make your animals more productive:
Positive Trait | Effect |
|---|---|
Workaholic | Animal works more times daily |
Twins | 30% chance of multiple offspring |
Precocial | Growth time reduced by 1 day |
Strong | Breeding cooldown reduced by 1 day |
Bulkiness | Animal grows larger (produces more) |
Optimism | 50% chance happiness doubles from interactions |
Negative Trait (Eliminate) | Effect |
|---|---|
Pride | Cannot be petted |
Petiteness | Grows smaller (produces less) |
Bloom | Happiness boost decreased by 1 point |
Senior Rancher Certification
Access to Horses (1,350 coins) and Deer (1,350 coins) as rideable mounts
Stable blueprint for housing mounts
Love Feeder blueprint (boosts breeding success)
Friendship Collar blueprint (increases animal happiness gain)
The Expert Rancher certification requires breeding an animal with 5 maxed positive genes. Rabbits are the recommended choice due to their low cost (75 coins) and fast breeding cycle.
Continue using the Breeding House to pair rabbits with the most positive genes.
Each breeding attempt can pass genes from both parents and occasionally introduce new mutations.
Focus on rabbits that already have 3 or 4 genes and pair them together. Discard offspring with fewer genes than the parents.
Track which genes each rabbit carries by checking its info panel. You need 5 different positive traits all at maximum level on a single animal.
Show the 5-gene animal to Pastelle to complete the certification.
Expert Rancher Certification
Access to new premium animals:
Animal | Cost | Products | Special |
|---|---|---|---|
Alpaca | 2,750 coins | Wool/Fiber, Poop | Single-rider mount; 4 breeding variants |
Ostrich | 2,750 coins | Eggs, Feathers, Poop | Single-rider mount; 4 breeding variants |
Auto Milker blueprint (automatically collects milk from cows and sheep)
Selective Breeding House blueprint (lets you target specific genetic traits during breeding)
Brush and pet your animals every day. Happiness directly affects product quality: regular products below 100 happiness, Premium products above 150.
Rabbits eat weeds that grow on your farmland, saving you manual clearing time. Keep a few rabbits roaming free on your farm.
Chickens clear up to 5 bugs or pests per day from your farm. Place their coop near your crop fields for the best effect.
For the White Horse trial, breed in bulk. Buy multiple horses and run several breeding pairs simultaneously to speed up the process.
For the 5-gene Expert trial, start with rabbits early. Gene stacking takes many generations, so begin breeding rabbits for genes as soon as you unlock the Breeding House at Intermediate tier.
Keep the Love Feeder stocked at all times during breeding sessions. It reduces breeding cooldown and improves offspring quality.
The Selective Breeding House at Expert tier is a major upgrade. It lets you pick which parent traits to prioritize, making future breeding projects much faster.
