Overview

Moonstone is a luminescent, pearlescent gemstone found in the more mystical areas of Starsand Island. It features adularescence, a soft glowing shimmer reminiscent of moonlight on water. Historically connected to magic, intuition, and lunar cycles, Moonstone is a critical late-game material used in magical equipment, the Luna Deer altar activation, and endgame building projects.

Unlike the plants and mushrooms found in the Moonlit Forest, Moonstone must be mined with a tool rather than gathered by hand. Its ethereal blue glow makes deposits easy to spot, even in the darkest areas of the dungeon.

Where to Find

Moonstone deposits are found in specific zones of the Moonlit Forest. The primary locations are:

• Darkwater Shore (along the luminescent cliff faces; the most reliable farming spot)

• Moonlight Meadow (a high-value zone for Moonstone nodes)

• Lower wooden paths near Serenity's Rest camp (alongside Aurorite and Flamecore)

Moonstone deposits respawn daily along with all other ore nodes in the Moonlit Forest. To reach Darkwater Shore, you need to activate the waterwheel mechanism and ride it down to the lower area.

Mining Requirements

Moonstone requires a Primorite Pickaxe (or higher) to harvest. Attempting to mine Moonstone with a lower-tier pickaxe will not yield any drops. Make sure to upgrade your mining tools before planning a Moonstone farming run.

Uses

Luna Deer Altar

The most important use of Moonstone is activating the altar that summons the Luna Deer mount. After defeating the Ruin Guard (the final boss of the Moonlit Forest), an altar appears where players must place:

• 3x Moonstone

• 3x Spirit Berry

• 1x Prayer (obtained from Zephyria after reporting the victory)

The Luna Deer is widely considered the ultimate rideable mount reward in Starsand Island, earned by completing the entire Explorer profession questline.

Crafting

Moonstone is a component in crafting several advanced items:

• Lunar Crystals (used in various magical crafting recipes)

• Lunar Cores (a key material for Sewing Table clothing recipes)

• Other moon-themed items in advanced crafting trees

Tips

• Always bring a Primorite Pickaxe or better when heading to the Moonlit Forest. Without it, you cannot mine Moonstone.

• Darkwater Shore is the best spot for Moonstone farming. Activate the waterwheel and ride it down each time you visit.

• Moonstone deposits glow with an ethereal blue light, making them visible from a distance even in the darkest areas.

• Save at least 3 Moonstone for the Luna Deer altar before spending them on other crafting projects.

• Moonstone deposits respawn daily, so plan regular Moonlit Forest runs to build up your supply.
