Mining is one of the best ways to make money in Starsand Island, and you need ores for most crafting upgrades. Almost all ores are found in the Moonlit Forest. Bring a pickaxe every time you go in. Resources there respawn every day at 8 PM, so you can farm the same areas repeatedly.
The first ore you find. Available right away in the cavern behind the Damaged Door near your home, and throughout the Evernight Forest (first area of the Moonlit Forest). Copper Ores look like brownish-orange rocks.
Found from Evernight Forest onward, becoming more common in the Gate of Life area. Gray-colored rocks.
Bright yellow rocks, easy to spot, and abundant throughout the Moonlit Forest from Evernight Forest onward. You will need a lot of Fluorite because it is used to repair camp waypoints in the forest (5 Fluorite per camp). It can also be used as Slingshot ammo in a pinch.
Processing chain:
Fluorite → Radiant Corestal (Furnace)
Radiant Corestal → Radiant Crystal (for advanced tools)
Green-tinted mineral nodes in the Moonlit Forest. Less common than Fluorite and Copper. Available from the Gate of Life area onward.

Quartz → Quartzite (Furnace)
Quartzite → Glass Brick (Furnace)
Glass Brick → Glass (Cutter)
Glass unlocks a range of crafts, including the Jam Maker (turns fruit into Jam for better sell value).
Darker gray rocks, similar to Tin but noticeably darker. Found in the Dreamfall Garden, the fourth area of the Moonlit Forest. You need to shoot down a broken wall with your Slingshot to open the path there. Iron Ores respawn daily.
Processing:
Iron Ore → Iron Ingot (requires Furnace II)
Furnace II is unlocked by progressing with Zerine's crafting questline until you get the Worktable II and Furnace II blueprints. Furnace II also unlocks Gold Ingots, Magnets, Alloys, and Starflare Cores.
Found in deeper zones of the Moonlit Forest, past the Dreamfall Garden. Coal is used as fuel for advanced furnace operations and in crafting recipes.
Gold Ore appears in the deeper zones of the Moonlit Forest. Process it into Gold Ingots at Furnace II. Gold items sell for premium prices.
The rarest standard mineral, found in the deepest areas of the Moonlit Forest. Used for the most advanced crafting recipes.
An advanced mineral found deeper in the Moonlit Forest. You need a pickaxe better than the Impulsive Pickaxe to mine it.
Found in a hidden cave behind the Water Wheel in the Moonlit Forest (past the Crystalith boss area). Used for advanced crafting.
Ores are processed through a chain of crafting stations:
Furnace I — Bronze, Copper Ingot, Glass Brick, Stone Brick, Tin Ingot, Radiant Corestal
Furnace II — Iron Ingot, Gold Ingot, Magnet, Alloy, Starflare Core
Furnace III — Aurorite Ingot, Eternal Alloy, Flamecore Ingot, Lunar Core
Cutter I–III — Cuts ingots into sheets, planks, and other processed forms
Gear Smith — Gears, Crystals, Wires, Springs, Nails
Ore Analyzer — Processes raw ore chunks into Common, Uncommon, or Rare variants
Crafting station blueprints unlock through Zerine's Crafter certification tiers:
Base tier — Equipment Blueprint Pack (Cutter I, Charcoal Kiln, Furnace I, Separator)
Apprentice — Impulse Pickaxe, Impact Axe, Storage Box II
Junior — Impact Hammer, Machete, Furnace II, Worktable II, Cutter II, Gear Smith
Intermediate — Blast Hammer, Sharp Machete, Energy Converter, Realm Box
Senior — Electric Drill, Chainsaw, Worktable III, Cutter III
Expert — Mining Robot, Logging Robot, Bug Trap, Teleporter, Gathering Robot
Build multiple Furnaces. Once you are processing Copper, Tin, Fluorite, Quartz, and Iron simultaneously, a single Furnace becomes a serious bottleneck.
Stock up on Wood. Furnaces need Charcoal, which comes from Wood in the Charcoal Kiln. Process Wood into Charcoal before ore-processing days.
Sell smelted bars. Selling processed ingots is one of the fastest money-making methods. Further processing has diminishing returns for the time invested.
Use the Merchant Ship. It buys items at 200% value. Save your best bars and rare ores for it. See the money-making guide for details.
Dump remaining stamina into mining at the end of each day if you have nothing else to do. Resources respawn daily.
Repair camp waypoints with 5 Fluorite each as you progress through the Moonlit Forest. They serve as safe zones with sleeping areas and crafting benches.
