Lop-Eared Rabbit is a Rare Rabbit variant in Starsand Island. Its defining feature is a pair of soft, oversized ears that hang down rather than standing upright. As one of the four rabbit variants in the game, the Lop-Eared Rabbit fills the same role as the common Rabbit: it produces useful byproducts and helps keep your farm clear of weeds.
Rabbits are the very first animal unlocked at the Green Pasture Ranch and remain useful throughout the entire game thanks to their weeding ability. The Lop-Eared Rabbit is obtainable only through breeding, making it a step up in rarity from the common Rabbit that can be purchased from Pastelle for 75 coins.

The Lop-Eared Rabbit is distinguished by its large, floppy ears that drape down alongside its face. Common rabbits have erect ears, so the drooping silhouette makes this variant immediately recognizable in the hutch. Its body shape and coloring are otherwise similar to the base rabbit, but the oversized ears give it a softer, more relaxed look.
Like all rabbit variants, the Lop-Eared Rabbit helps clean weeds from farmland. Each rabbit can remove up to 5 weeds per day, matching the common Rabbit and the Dango Rabbit. For comparison, the Super Rare Luna Rabbit can clear up to 15 weeds per day, three times the rate of its Rare counterparts.
To get the most out of weeding, place the Rabbit Hutch near the fields you want kept clear. Rabbits work automatically as long as they are fed and happy.
The Lop-Eared Rabbit produces Wool, Poop (general fertilizer), and Rabbit Poop. Wool is one of the earliest textile materials players can access, used in crafting and at the Loom. Product output is the same across all rabbit variants; there is no bonus for rarer breeds.
The Lop-Eared Rabbit can only be obtained through breeding. Pair a male and female rabbit in the same enclosure (or in a Breeding House / Selective Breeding House) with an empty slot, and ensure both parents are fed and clean. A baby will appear the next day with a random chance of being a Rare variant like the Lop-Eared Rabbit.
Rabbits are unlocked at the Beginner Rancher rank, so you can start breeding for the Lop-Eared Rabbit early in the game.
Stack multiple rabbits near your crop fields to maximize weed removal. Five rabbits working together clear up to 25 weeds per day.
Pair two Rare rabbits (such as two Lop-Eared Rabbits) to increase the odds of producing the Super Rare Luna Rabbit.
Keep parents with the Workaholic DNA trait. This is the most valuable trait for utility animals assigned to weeding tasks.
