The synergy system is the reactive layer that sits on top of racing in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Every planet you race on inflicts its own environmental status effect on your vehicle, and the same environment that threatens you can also be used to counter those effects. The developers have described it as a way to make your build choices matter from track to track, because a setup that thrives on one world can struggle on the next.
Status Effects by Planet

Each world in a tour carries a different status effect that can build up on your craft as you race. The effects confirmed so far map to the named planets as follows.
Planet | Status Effect | How It Is Countered |
|---|---|---|
Ando Prime | Your vehicle can become frozen on the snow world | Not yet detailed; managing the effect is part of adapting to the track |
Lantaana | You can overheat by driving through the lava | Driving through water cools the vehicle back down |
Jakku | You can get burnt by the sun on some versions of the track | Counterplay tied to the environment, as on the other worlds |
The developers have said each planet has "a different status effect that can be inflicted on you," and that these effects are meant to be subverted rather than simply endured. The exact effect on worlds beyond the three above has not been spelled out.
Interaction with the Ramjet
The synergy system ties directly into the Ramjet, the high-risk boost component that builds heat as you use it. Heat is itself a kind of status the environment can push on. On Lantaana, driving over the planet’s water rivers makes the Ramjet heat up more slowly, so a hazard on one stretch of track becomes an advantage on another. The result is that pilots are encouraged to read the environment and time aggressive boosting around it.
Building Around Synergies
Because effects differ by world, the system rewards swapping parts to suit the track rather than locking in a single build for a whole run. The studio frames this as thinking about your build "in a much more tactical way," combining parts and environment to shape how a given race plays out. It pairs with the broader customization system, where the parts you fit and the stats you raise determine how well your craft copes with each planet’s hazard.
Teased Worlds
The developers have hinted at additional worlds tied to the system but declined to confirm them. One example raised in interviews is a salt-covered world whose surface would react to vehicles passing over it, but it has not been confirmed as a playable planet, so it is not listed among the confirmed worlds here.
