Corrected the supported-languages list: replaced Czech with Turkish to match the 14 launch languages
Solarpunk launched worldwide on June 8, 2026. It is developed by Cyberwave and published by rokaplay. The game launched as a full version 1.0 release on day one rather than through a Steam Early Access period.

Solarpunk released on all four platforms simultaneously on June 8, 2026, with no platform-exclusive content. On Xbox, it is available through Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Platform | Storefronts | Notes |
|---|---|---|
PC | Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG | Steam App ID 1805110; GOG is DRM-free |
PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Store | Console version handled by Mi'pu'mi Games |
Xbox Series X|S | Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass | Available on Game Pass at launch; console version by Mi'pu'mi Games |
Nintendo Switch 2 | Nintendo eShop | Console version by Mi'pu'mi Games |
The game was first announced in 2023 for the original Nintendo Switch. That version was later moved to Nintendo Switch 2, and newer trailers no longer mention an original-Switch release. There are no Mac, Linux, mobile, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One versions, and cross-play between platforms is not planned at launch.

Solarpunk skips the Steam Early Access model entirely and ships as a complete version 1.0 product on launch day. The Steam page is not flagged as Early Access, and the developers have not announced any Early Access plans.

Bringing Solarpunk to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 alongside the PC build required engineering capacity beyond the small Cyberwave team. The console versions are handled by Mi'pu'mi Games, a Vienna-based porting studio, while the PC build stays with Cyberwave. The partnership was announced alongside the release-date reveal.
Solarpunk is priced at $22.99 USD at launch. It is a paid game, not free-to-play, and skips Steam Early Access entirely. The PC system requirements are now listed on the Steam store, with a mid-range minimum and recommended specification.
The launch date arrived after several visible slips from the original schedule. Solarpunk was first announced on Kickstarter in 2023 with an earlier release window in mind, slipped into 2025, then slipped again from 2025 into 2026 specifically to give multiplayer the time it needed to ship in good shape. The April 2026 announcement locked in June 8, 2026 as the final date across all four launch platforms.
The team has framed the delay as a deliberate trade: rather than launch with the solo loop alone and add co-op later, the project waited until both modes were ready to ship together. That decision sets up the launch-day version as a complete cozy-survival package rather than a phased rollout.
The Steam storefront for Solarpunk lists support for 14 languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese-Brazilian, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Ukrainian. Console SKUs typically inherit the same language set, but each storefront publishes its own localisation list closer to launch.
By the spring before launch, Solarpunk had passed nearly 1.2 million Steam wishlists. That metric is unusually strong for a small-studio cozy survival title and signals a broad audience well beyond the 6,312 Kickstarter backers who originally funded the project. The free Steam demo was played more than 500,000 times and ranked among the most-downloaded entries during Steam Next Fest events leading up to release. In the final days before launch, the developers reconfirmed that Solarpunk would join Xbox Game Pass on day one, alongside the previously announced Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. On Xbox, the day-one Game Pass availability spans Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming support.
Solarpunk launched on June 8, 2026 to a mostly positive player reception. Reviewers highlighted the peaceful, no-combat tone, the renewable-energy fantasy, exploration by airship between islands, and the focus on automation, and several singled out four-player co-op as the most enjoyable way to play. The most common criticisms were that the solo experience can feel quiet or lonely and that resource gathering becomes repetitive over a longer session, with some reviewers feeling the game could still use additional polish. The reception settled as a positive but uneven debut, with the majority of player reviews recommending the game.
The game shipped as a finished 1.0 release rather than an Early Access build, but the developers have continued to patch it after launch. The first post-launch update reached PC within days of release, fixing multiplayer inventory issues, save handling, and several gameplay bugs, and adjusting early-game crop balance. Updates for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S follow the PC build once they pass each platform’s verification process, and Nintendo Switch 2 updates take longer still. The team has said a roadmap is planned but was not ready to share at launch. See Updates and Patches for the patch history.
