Added the concept art of the glass city to the Lunar Glass City section
11Shin-Edo is the flagship lunar city of SOL Shogunate, known as the Lunar Glass City. It is an opulent capital under a vast dome, themed after the feudal Edo period, and one of two settlements the studio has presented as flagship locations. For the wider region, see The Moon.2233Quick Reference4455FieldDetailTypeGlass-domed lunar megacity.NicknameThe Lunar Glass City.Era ThemingFeudal Edo period.HabitabilityEarth-like conditions maintained by centrifugal force and engineered atmospheres.Named Interior SiteA Tennoji clan residence, labelled on official concept art.ConnectionsSpace elevators to orbit, and lunar bullet trains to other cities.Companion CityTenkyo, the second confirmed flagship location.66The Lunar Glass City778+89Shin-Edo is the city the studio leads with. It sits under a vast dome on an otherwise barren regolith plain, and inside that dome it is dressed as an opulent capital: the architecture and street life of a feudal Edo capital rendered at megacity scale. The Lunar Glass City name is the studio's own shorthand for it.9101011It is one of two confirmed flagship cities. The other is Tenkyo, a nightlife district drenched in neon and built around a 1980s Showa-era entertainment quarter. Other lunar settlements appear as labels on concept art, but these two are the ones the studio has actually presented and walked through.11121213Life Under the Dome13141415Inside the dome, centrifugal force and engineered atmospheres hold conditions close to Earth normal: walkable gravity, breathable air, and stable temperatures. That engineering is the whole reason the city can look and behave like a period setting rather than like a habitat. Step outside and the surface is hard vacuum, high radiation, and temperature swings that would kill an unaltered human.15161617These megacities are where the elite Shogunate aristocracy lives. The comfort inside the glass is manufactured, expensive, and unevenly handed out, which is the point the setting keeps returning to.17181819Edo-Period Theming19202021Each major lunar city is themed around a different era of Japanese history, and Shin-Edo draws its own from the Edo period. The theming is a surface rather than a description of the population. The studio has said each city is meant to read as a real, lived-in futuristic metropolis made up of many different backgrounds and cultures, so the period dressing sits on top of a mixed populace rather than standing in for it.21222223The theming is also not a claim about real history. It is the setting's own conceit about how a spacefaring ruling class chose to dress the world it built.23242425The Tennoji Residence25262627Official concept art carries a label reading "Shin Edo - Tennoji residence", placing a clan residence inside the city, alongside separate art of Shin-Edo under its simulated daytime. Those labels are the studio's internal names for the places pictured rather than confirmations of playable content. What they do establish is that the house whose destruction opens the campaign kept a residence here, which puts Yuzuki's family inside the flagship city rather than out at the edges of the Shogunate.27282829Connections to the Wider Moon29303031Shin-Edo does not sit alone. Space elevators connect the lunar surface to orbit, moving people and material between the Moon and the wider solar system, and bullet trains tie cities and districts together across the surface. The Tennoji clan built much of that train network. Beyond the cities are crater mining settlements tied to the Karasuma clan and long stretches of exposed terrain that are crossed by mount rather than on foot. The world is not a single seamless open map: it is a narrative-driven campaign built out of designed levels, with access widening as the story progresses.31323233Class Divide33343435Opulent elite quarters inside the city mark a class divide built into the architecture, visibly separate from the spaces where colonial workers live. The visible side of lunar life is the aristocracy inside the domes, with its banners, its armor, and its trains. The largely unseen side is the workforce that keeps the mines and transit running. Shin-Edo is the clearest expression of the first half, which is exactly why the studio uses it as the establishing image.35363637In the Developer Diary37383839Shin-Edo was walked through in the April 2026 developer diary titled The World of SOL Shogunate, which covered the city alongside Tenkyo and set out the Tennoji and Karasuma rivalry. That remains the fullest public look at the place.39404041Unconfirmed Details41424243Most of what a reader would want to know about the city is not yet public:43444445The explorable footprint, and how much of the city the player can reach.Population and physical scale.Whether the Shogun's seat of power is inside Shin-Edo or elsewhere on the Moon.Named districts, landmarks, or interiors beyond the Tennoji residence. How the game handles a day and night cycle inside a simulated one.Whether the city is a single level, several, or a hub returned to across the campaign.Which factions hold territory inside the city, and whether the Karasuma have a presence here.45464647This page will be updated as more of the city is revealed.
