World Map and Locations

Hedge remaining franchise-sibling 2010 browser-game comparisons.
Roco Kingdom: World takes place on the Kaluoxi'a Continent (卡洛西亚大陆), a vast coastal basin surrounded by mountains, open sea, ancient ruins, and floating sky structures. The world is built using Unreal Engine 4 and spans dozens of distinct zones, each with its own ecology, spirit populations, environmental hazards, and hidden secrets. Every area is rendered in full 3D, with explorable terrain that can be traversed on foot, by mount, or through the air via gliding and flying mounts.
A full dynamic day-night cycle governs wild spirit spawns and NPC schedules. Dark-attribute spirits only appear at night, making nighttime expeditions essential for collectors. A real-time weather system (rain, fog, sandstorms, blizzards) further shapes the experience: rain strengthens water-type moves and weakens fire-type moves in combat, while fog and blizzards reduce visibility and alter encounter rates. Different weather patterns also trigger unique spirit behaviors; for example, certain spirits only surface during rainstorms, and others retreat to shelter.
Map areas are progressively unlocked through main story progression. Attempting to enter a locked zone displays its required chapter and recommended spirit level. Once unlocked, fast-travel landmarks (marked by glowing obelisks) allow instant teleportation between discovered points. Certain flying or swimming mounts are required to reach hidden sub-areas that cannot be accessed on foot.
The following table lists all known regions in roughly the order players encounter them during story progression. Level ranges are approximate and based on the wild spirits found in each zone.

Region Name (English) | Region Name (Chinese) | Description | Notable Spirits | Level Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Shop Street | 商店街 | The main hub and starting zone. Contains NPC shops for potions and capture balls, the Spirit Center for healing, quest givers, and the entrance to the first story dungeon. Players receive their starter spirit here during the opening cinematic. | Tutorial spirits only | 1 - 5 |
Crescent Moon Lake Shore | 月牙湖岸 | A scenic waterside zone just north of Shop Street. Primarily water-type spirits spawn along the banks, making it the best early location for building a water-element team. Fishing spots and hidden item crates dot the shoreline. | Water-type spirits; early captures | 5 - 12 |
Listening Wind Tower Ground | 聆风塔地 | Open grassland and plains northeast of the lake. Dominated by flying-type spirits. The Wind-Listening Tower landmark is a fast-travel point and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding zones. | Flying-type spirits | 15 - 22 |
Salt Water Bay | 咸水湾 | Eastern coastal zone where saltwater and freshwater mix. Water and flying types coexist. Rare variants appear during foggy weather. Contains underwater exploration caves accessible with a water mount. | Mixed water/flying types; rare fog variants | 18 - 25 |
Sunken Ship Whirlpool | 沉船漩涡 | Dark ruins below Salt Water Bay surrounding a massive shipwreck. High-level ghost-type and poison-type spirits lurk in the wreckage. Visibility is reduced, and ambush encounters are common. The whirlpool center hides a mini-boss. | Ghost-type, poison-type; mini-boss | 25 - 35 |
Light Breeze Hills | 轻风山丘陵 | Western area with rolling hills and exposed rock formations. The densest ground-type spirit concentration on the entire map. Connected to chapters 6 through 8 of the main story. | Platinum Unicorn (mount) | 28 - 38 |
Obestan Lake | 奥贝斯坦湖 | A vast inland lake accessible from Believer's Village via port passages. A small island at the center houses the Royal Affairs office. | Tidal spirit spawns; island NPCs | 30 - 40 |
Chirping Platform | 叽叽喳喳地台 | A bug-type and dark-type hybrid zone with dense canopy cover. Spirits here frequently use debuff-heavy movesets. Bring a light-type or fire-type counter team. | Bug-type, dark-type spirits | 35 - 42 |

One of the most celebrated aspects of Roco Kingdom: World is the faithful recreation of iconic locations from classic Roco Kingdom lore. These classic areas have been reimagined as fully explorable 3D environments, preserving their spirit while adding depth, verticality, and hidden details that reward long-time fans.
Location | Chinese Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
彼得大道 | The original game's most recognizable street, now a bustling 3D boulevard with shops, NPCs, and quest givers. The NPC Mengmeng is found here and unlocks the Home System. | |
王国城堡 | The seat of the Roco Kingdom's government, rebuilt as a towering multi-story structure with explorable interior rooms, throne room, and hidden passages. | |
魔法学院 | A floating sky city and the game's main transportation hub. Features teleportation arrays connecting all major regions, advanced shops, the spirit research lab, PvP arenas, and weekly rotating challenge dungeons. | |
维苏威火山 | The primary fire spirit habitat. Lava flows, magma chambers, and heat hazards create a challenging environment. Fire-type spirits are abundant throughout. | |
Labrang Mine | 拉布朗矿山 | A 3-layer mine structure with increasingly rare ore deposits and stronger spirit encounters on each lower level. Ground and rock-type spirits dominate. |
Maple Snow Town | 枫雪镇 | The largest classic location, featuring 11 sub-areas including frozen lakes, snow-covered forests, cabins, and an ice crystal cave. Ice-type spirits are common. |
Moon Town | 月亮镇 | A quaint rural settlement known for its nighttime atmosphere. Dark and fairy-type spirits appear more frequently here than in most other zones. |
Royal Association | 皇家协会 | The headquarters of the kingdom's spirit research organization. Key NPCs provide advanced quests, breeding tips, and competitive battle registrations. |
Hidden Valley | 隐幽谷 | A secretive canyon accessible only through a concealed entrance. Rare and elusive spirits spawn here, and the area contains lore-critical inscriptions about the kingdom's ancient history. |
Beyond the main traversable regions, Roco Kingdom: World contains several hidden areas that do not appear on the map until specific conditions are met. These locations hold some of the game's rarest encounters and most significant lore. Reaching them typically requires special mounts or completion of certain story milestones.
Location | Chinese Name | Level Range | Notable Features |
|---|---|---|---|
Dreambeast Forest | 梦兽之森 | 45 - 55 | A hidden area above the main map, accessible only after finding specific clues in other regions. Contains the Memory Stone, a lore-critical artifact. The forest is shrouded in perpetual twilight. Dream-type and psychic-type spirits are exclusive to this zone. |
Moon Rabbit Dark Harbor | 月兔暗港 | 40 - 50 | A shipwreck-laden area hidden beneath the main coastal zones. The Shadow Tree is located here, serving as the hiding place for an elusive spirit. Dark-type and ghost-type spirits dominate. Requires a water mount and strong light-type coverage. |
Spirit King City | 精灵王城 | 50 - 60 | The endgame stronghold where the most powerful spirits reside. Entry requires completing the main story. Features multi-stage boss battles and legendary spirit encounters. |
The endgame map opens up several prestigious and dangerous regions. These areas feature the highest-level wild spirits, unique boss encounters, and lore-critical story moments.
Location | Chinese Name | Level Range | Notable Features |
|---|---|---|---|
Skull Forest | 骷髅森林 | 45 - 55 | A perpetually dark forest filled with ghost-type and dark-type spirits. Navigation is maze-like, with paths that shift depending on the time of day. Hidden treasure vaults reward thorough explorers. |
Snow Mountain / Atlantis Region | 雪山/亚特兰蒂斯 | 45 - 55 | Ice-type spirit encounters dominate this frozen highland. Blizzard weather cycles reduce visibility and boost ice-type moves. An underwater Atlantis sub-zone is accessible through a hidden cave entrance beneath the glacier. |
Desert Wasteland | 沙漠荒原 | 35 - 45 | A mid-to-late game zone where sandstorms periodically sweep the area, dealing chip damage to non-ground and non-rock spirits. Contains buried ruins with puzzle mechanics. |
King's Prison | 国王监狱 | 48 - 55 | A story-critical area accessed during the final chapters. Features some of the toughest scripted battles in the game. Once cleared, it reopens as a repeatable challenge dungeon. |
The dynamic day-night cycle runs continuously in real time, with a full cycle completing approximately every 30 minutes of real-world play. Daytime and nighttime each have distinct characteristics that affect gameplay.

Daytime: Most spirit species are active during the day. Visibility is high, NPC shops are open, and the majority of story content takes place during daylight hours.
Nighttime: Dark-attribute spirits emerge exclusively at night. Visibility drops, and certain NPCs go to sleep. Some environmental puzzles only activate under moonlight.
Weather: Rain, fog, sandstorms, and blizzards cycle through randomly. Rain strengthens water-type moves and weakens fire-type moves in battle. Fog reduces encounter visibility but increases rare spirit spawn rates. Sandstorms deal passive damage to non-ground types. Blizzards boost ice-type effectiveness.

Unlock fast-travel points early. Interact with every glowing obelisk you find. Backtracking on foot wastes significant time as the map grows.
Match your team to the zone. Check the dominant element types of a region before entering and build a counter-team accordingly.
Use mounts for hidden areas. Many sub-zones and treasure caches are only reachable with specific mount types (flying, swimming, climbing).
Watch the weather. Certain rare spirits only appear during rain, fog, or blizzard conditions. Weather is displayed on the minimap icon.
Return to earlier zones at higher levels. Some areas have gated sections that only open after reaching a certain story chapter or spirit level.
Check tidal cycles at Obestan Lake. The water level changes periodically, revealing hidden paths and buried items on the tidal flats.
Explore at night for dark-attribute spirits. Dreambeast Forest spirits have higher spawn rates during the nighttime cycle, and the Memory Stone emits a visible glow after dark.
