Dungeons and instances are instanced PvE challenges spread across the world of Roco Kingdom: World. They range from casual exploration zones filled with collectibles to demanding endgame gauntlets that test even the most experienced trainers. Each dungeon type serves a distinct purpose in player progression, whether it is acquiring rare spirits, farming experience, or earning exclusive resources. This guide covers every major dungeon category, explains how to access them, and details the rewards waiting inside.
Most boss encounters in the game begin with a Star Magic phase. During this phase, the player must break the boss's protective shield through an action sequence. Once the shield is shattered, the battle transitions into standard turn-based combat. Understanding this two-phase pattern is critical for success in virtually every dungeon type.
Spirit Leader Bosses are powerful boss encounters scattered across the overworld. They are significantly harder than normal wild spirit encounters and serve as mid-game progression gates. Defeating a Spirit Leader Boss can drop rare spirit eggs, making them a primary target for players looking to expand their collection.
Boss | Chinese Name | Location | Type | Mechanics |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Snow Shadow Ice Spirit | 雪影冰灵 | Ice | Two-phase fight: first an overworld Star Magic shield-break, then a turn-based battle with blizzard field effects | |
Blazing War Hound | 烈火战犬 | Flame Ridge | Fire | High physical ATK; periodically buffs itself with an attack boost that must be dispelled or endured |
Spirit Leader Bosses respawn on fixed cooldowns after being defeated. Players can return to challenge them repeatedly for additional egg drops and cultivation materials. Bringing spirits with type advantage against the boss is strongly recommended, as their elevated stats make neutral-type matchups punishing.
Strange Beast Flora (稀兽花种) is a 4-player cooperative dungeon mode with daily rotating spirit encounters. Players team up to face waves of empowered spirits, and the final reward can include hybrid spirits with unique trait combinations not found in the wild.
Form a party of up to 4 players through the multiplayer system or the dungeon matchmaker.
Enter the Strange Beast Flora instance. The available spirit rotation changes daily.
Battle through waves of empowered spirits cooperatively. All four players participate in the same turn-based battle.
The final wave has a chance to drop a hybrid spirit egg. Hybrid spirits inherit traits from two different species, creating unique ability combinations.
The daily rotation ensures variety and prevents players from farming a single hybrid indefinitely. Checking the rotation each day and coordinating with friends to tackle specific targets is the most efficient approach.
The Battle Theater (对战剧场) is a stage-based gauntlet designed as a solo challenge. It consists of 4 major stages, each containing 3 sub-stages, for a total of 12 encounters. Enemies grow progressively more difficult, and each sub-stage introduces new mechanics or enemy compositions.
Stage | Sub-stages | Difficulty | Key Challenge |
|---|---|---|---|
Stage 1 | 3 | Normal | Introduction to Battle Theater mechanics; standard enemy compositions |
Stage 2 | 3 | Hard | Enemies gain elemental resistances; type coverage becomes important |
Stage 3 | 3 | Very Hard | Enemies use coordinated attacks and healing; burst damage is essential |
Stage 4 | 3 | Extreme | Boss-tier enemies with unique mechanics; requires optimized teams |
Completing all 12 sub-stages grants a one-time set of premium rewards, including rare Gulu Balls and cultivation materials. The Battle Theater resets with each new season, giving returning players a reason to tackle it again.
Hidden Dungeons are chain-linked sequences of challenges scattered throughout the world. Unlike other dungeon types, their entrances are not marked on the map. Players must discover them by exploring off the beaten path, interacting with suspicious objects, solving environmental puzzles, or fulfilling specific conditions such as visiting a location at a certain time of day.
Some Hidden Dungeons are time-gated, requiring the player to complete an action within a countdown timer to reveal the entrance. Others are linked in chains, where clearing one Hidden Dungeon reveals the location of the next. The rewards are proportionally generous, including perfect spirit eggs, Magic Dust, and rare cosmetic items. For a detailed listing of all known Hidden Dungeons and their locations, see the Hidden Secrets and Collectibles article.
World Bosses are large-scale cooperative encounters designed for groups of 3 to 5 players. They spawn on fixed schedules in designated overworld locations and are announced through in-game notifications when they appear.
Shared damage: All participating players attack the same boss in a synchronized turn-based format. Damage from all players contributes to a shared health pool.
Shared loot: All participants receive loot upon defeating the boss. The quality of rewards scales with the player's contribution and the boss's difficulty tier.
Enrage timer: World Bosses have an enrage timer. If the boss is not defeated before the timer expires, it becomes significantly more powerful, usually resulting in a wipe.
Coordination with friends is strongly recommended for World Bosses. Having a balanced party with a mix of element types ensures that at least one player always has a type advantage against the boss's current phase. Communication through the game's voice or text chat systems helps players synchronize ability usage and avoid wasting energy on redundant debuffs.
The Territory Trial is the most challenging PvE content in the game, available to players at level 50 and above. It was introduced with the April 2, 2026 update as part of Season 1: Dark Night Collecting Light. The mode features a unique trait-sharing mechanic where two deployed spirits share abilities, requiring flexible team composition and deep understanding of ability synergies. Rewards include Prism Crystals, Soul Ring Seals, and the rare Boss Memento material needed for Boss Transformation evolutions.
Type | Player Count | Description | Key Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
Spirit Leader Boss | Solo | Overworld boss encounters with two-phase fights | Rare spirit eggs, cultivation materials |
Strange Beast Flora | 1-4 (Co-op) | Daily rotating co-op dungeon with hybrid spirit drops | Hybrid spirit eggs, experience |
Battle Theater | Solo | 12-encounter stage-based gauntlet | Premium balls, cultivation materials |
Hidden Dungeon | Solo | Chain-linked discovery-based challenges | Perfect spirit eggs, Magic Dust, cosmetics |
World Boss | 3-5 (Co-op) | Scheduled overworld boss with shared damage and loot | Scaled loot, rare materials |
Solo | 21-day rotating gauntlet with trait-sharing mechanic (Level 50+) | Prism Crystals, Soul Ring Seals, Boss Memento |
Always check the boss's element type before entering. Bringing spirits with type advantage dramatically reduces difficulty.
Master the Star Magic shield-break phase. Many bosses are much easier once the shield is down, so a clean break saves time and resources.
For co-op dungeons, communicate with your team about who is covering which element type. Overlap wastes potential coverage.
Hidden Dungeons reward exploration. Check every suspicious object, cave entrance, and unusual rock formation as you traverse the world map.
World Bosses are on fixed schedules. Set reminders so you do not miss spawn windows, especially for bosses that drop materials you need.
Save your strongest spirits for the final encounters in multi-stage dungeons. Exhausting your best team on early waves can leave you unable to clear the boss.
