Badge Trials (徽章试炼) are Roco Kingdom: World's eight-badge series, a set of themed challenge gauntlets that the game rolls out one element at a time. The series echoes the badge journey at the heart of the Main Story's Eight Great Badges framing, but runs as its own live challenge content. The first entry, the Grass Badge Trial (草系徽章试炼), opened in the last week of July 2026 during Season 3: Lead-Type Dream.
The Grass Badge Trial is hosted at the Field Research Institute (野外研究院), where the researcher Roland (罗兰) guides players through a challenge the official posts frame as a test of choice and growth. Play around the trial can also surface a new leader form, Martial Cool Cat (武斗酷猫), which players have shown off as an unlockable encounter tied to the trial's launch window.
The full ruleset is published in the opening announcement. A run uses one owned spirit and three starting skills, then works through a path of 24 challenge nodes (three lanes of eight) mixing fights and random events. Along the way the spirit absorbs beaten opponents' traits, skills, and effect fragments, and can fuse skills to grow; health carries over between fights while energy refills, and trial tokens buy merchant upgrades or event rerolls. The spirit's cultivation stats apply (awakening values do not), the run fails if the spirit is exhausted, and three difficulty tiers unlock in sequence. Community clear guides note the run builds to a fight against the grand mage Roland himself.
Access requires magic level 50 with the Spirit Erudite (精灵博学者) rank and the main-story quest Crown of Grade Points (绩点之冠) completed. The event reward window runs from July 30 12:00 to November 5, 2026 04:00, and the mode itself stays playable with its regular rewards after the window closes.

Only the grass badge is live so far. The remaining seven element badges had not been dated as of early August 2026; the series name and the one-at-a-time rollout are the officially confirmed parts. This page will pick up each badge as it opens.
