Outfits and Customization
March 6, 2026 at 08:57 PM
Major expansion with all 7 hairstyle names, 28 hair colors, 10 skin tones, clothing categories with color variants (tops/pants/headwear/bags/shoes), mirror sources and prices, Human Record discovery mechanics, character references (Blue, Misty, Sightseer)
Character customization in Pokemon Pokopia includes hairstyles, hair colors, skin tones, clothing, accessories, and full outfits. At game start, players choose from 7 hairstyles, 28 hair color shades, and 10 skin tones. Appearance changes can be made at any time by interacting with a mirror. Outfits are found as collectible "Human Records" throughout the game world, each referencing a classic Pokemon character or trainer class from the Kanto-era games.
Since the player character is Ditto transformed into a humanoid form, equipping different outfits changes Ditto's entire appearance to match the referenced character or trainer class.
Seven hairstyle options are available during character creation. Additional hairstyles may unlock as you progress through the game.
Hairstyle | Description |
|---|---|
Short | Close-cropped basic hairstyle |
Pigtails | Two pigtails on either side |
Buns | Hair gathered into rounded buns |
Two-Block Cut | Undercut with longer top |
Braided Pigtails | Two braided pigtails |
Locs | Dreadlock-style hairstyle |
Shaved | Fully shaved head |
Some hairstyles reference classic Pokemon characters. Community members and the fan account PLDH confirmed that options resembling Misty's hairstyle (side ponytail) and Blue's FireRed/LeafGreen appearance are available, along with a look matching the Sun and Moon Sightseer NPC.
28 distinct hair color options are available. Players can choose any color during character creation and change it at any time using a mirror. The palette ranges from natural shades (black, brown, blonde, red, gray, white) to vibrant colors, covering a wide spectrum of options.
10 skin tone options are available during character creation, ranging from light to dark. Like hair color, skin tone can be changed at any time using a mirror.
Beyond the full outfits found in Human Records, players can customize individual clothing pieces. Each category offers two base designs with 8 color variants per design:
Category | Options | Colors |
|---|---|---|
Tops | 2 base designs | 8 color variants each (16 total) |
Pants | 2 base designs | 8 color variants each (16 total) |
Headwear | 2 hat styles | 8 color variants each (16 total) |
Bags | 2 bag types | 8 color variants each (16 total) |
Shoes | Sneakers | 8 color variants |
Individual clothing pieces can be mixed and matched freely. Equipping a full outfit from a Human Record overrides individual clothing choices with the complete outfit set.
Outfits are discovered through Human Records, collectible lore items that appear as glowing books with yellow sparkles lying on the ground. Walking up to a Human Record and pressing A collects it, immediately adding the corresponding outfit to your wardrobe. Human Records also contain lore text about the humans who once inhabited Pokopia, connecting outfits to the game's backstory about the departed human civilization.

Many customization options reference classic Pokemon characters from the Kanto-era games. The fan data mining account PLDH confirmed on X/Twitter that players can recreate several iconic looks:
Blue (FireRed/LeafGreen): Clothing options matching Blue's rival outfit from the Gen III remakes.
Misty: A hairstyle matching Misty's signature side ponytail, plus the ability to strike her pose.
Sun and Moon Sightseer NPC: A hairstyle and outfit combination resembling the tourist NPC from Gen VII.
Brock: The Rock-Solid Outfit directly references Brock, Pewter City's Gym Leader.
Koga/Janine: The Ninja Outfit references the Fuchsia City Gym Leaders.
Sabrina: The Psychic Master Outfit references Saffron City's Gym Leader.
Team Rocket: The Team Rocket Outfit references the iconic villain organization.
Grab the free mirror and Ninja Outfit in the dilapidated room to the right of the Withered Wasteland Pokemon Center early. Break the stones with Rock Smash to access the room.
Buy a second mirror from the PC Shop (50 coins) and place it in your main base for convenient access.
Human Records glow with yellow sparkles and are easy to spot once you know what to look for. Check every building interior and side path.
Full outfits override individual clothing choices. If you want to mix and match tops, pants, and accessories, avoid equipping a Human Record outfit.
Explore the SS Anne in Bleak Beach thoroughly for the Sailor Outfit. The Human Record book can be easy to miss among the ship's interiors.
The Team Rocket Outfit in Sparkling Skylands requires reaching the furthest island in the Game Corner area, which may need bridge building or other terrain manipulation to access.
