Neo Dowsing Machine is the upgraded version of the standard Dowsing Machine in Pokemon Pokopia. Unlike the regular Dowsing Machine which finds buried items, the Neo Dowsing Machine is a single-purpose tool that finds one specific hidden location: the developer room in Sparkling Skylands.

Recipe Unlock | Register all 300 Pokemon in the Pokedex |
Register all 300 base Pokemon in your Pokedex. Event-exclusive Pokemon (Hoppip line, Sableye) tracked in the separate Event Pokedex do not count toward this milestone. Once you reach 300 base registrations, Professor Tangrowth gives you the Neo Dowsing Machine recipe.

Craft at any Workbench. The Dowsing Machine itself is obtained from Hitmonchan early in the game; the 5 Pokemetal cost is the more demanding part of the recipe.
The Neo Dowsing Machine is used in Sparkling Skylands to locate a buried scanner on the northwestern island. The scanner unlocks the developer room gate when you scan your completed Pokedex at it. The developer room contains the Printer, Card Reader, and Shutter recipes plus a printable Diploma.

Bring a Search-specialty Pokemon (such as Drilbur) with you to Sparkling Skylands when using the Neo Dowsing Machine. The buried scanner cannot be detected without one.
Stockpile Pokemetal before reaching 300 registrations so you can craft the Neo Dowsing Machine immediately when the recipe unlocks.
The Neo Dowsing Machine is essential for unlocking the Developer Room and obtaining the Printer recipe (which prints any photographed item) and the printable Diploma.
