Overview

Grubbin is a Bug-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Larva Pokemon (Dex #138). Grubbin normally live underground, but if they get unearthed by Hoothoot, they may be found gathered around electric Pokemon. Grubbin is the first stage of a three-member family that includes Charjabug and Vikavolt. It carries the Chop specialty, allowing it to process small logs into lumber.

Habitat

Grubbin can be found at two habitats, both of which can be placed in any area.

Yellow Tall Grass (#050)

A small plot made up of four tufts of yellow tall grass. Spots like this are often found in harbor towns.

Grubbin is a Common visitor at the Yellow Tall Grass habitat. It is available during all times of day (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy). Other Pokemon at this habitat include Spinarak (Common) and Ariados (Rare).

Vending Machine Break Area (#083)

Grubbin is a Common visitor at this habitat as well. It shares the Vending Machine Break Area with Charjabug (Rare). Available at all times and in all weather.

Important: The Vending Machine must be powered by a Utility Pole or a Pokemon with the Generate specialty. Without power, the Vending Machine will not activate the habitat.

Location

Both habitats can be placed in any area. The Yellow Tall Grass is the simplest option, requiring only four patches of Yellow Tall Grass. The Vending Machine Break Area needs a powered Vending Machine and a Wide Seat.

How to Befriend

Plant four patches of Yellow Tall Grass near each other for the quickest habitat setup. Grubbin is Common at both habitats, so it should appear quickly. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.

Specialty: Chop

Grubbin has the Chop specialty. Pokemon with the Chop specialty can process small logs into lumber. When logs are placed near Grubbin's location, it will chop them into usable lumber for crafting and building. Lumber is one of the most common crafting materials in Pokopia, so having a Chop Pokemon is essential.

Preferences

Grubbin prefers bright environments. Surround its habitat with natural items, electronic gadgets, and containers to raise its Comfort Level. Dry-flavored food works best for this Pokemon.

Related Pokemon

Grubbin is the first stage of a three-member family that includes Charjabug (Dex #139) and Vikavolt (Dex #140). In the main Pokemon series, Grubbin evolves into Charjabug at level 20. In Pokopia, all three must be found at their own habitats. Grubbin shares the Vending Machine Break Area habitat with Charjabug. All three family members have the Chop specialty.

Tips

• Grubbin is one of the easiest Chop-specialty Pokemon to find since it is Common at both of its habitats.

• The Yellow Tall Grass habitat is the simplest to build and also attracts Spinarak and Ariados.

• If you build the Vending Machine Break Area, you can find both Grubbin and Charjabug at the same location. Charjabug has both Chop and Generate specialties.

• Grubbin is a great early-game Chop Pokemon since its habitats are cheap to build. Upgrade to Charjabug or Vikavolt later for dual Chop and Generate specialties.
