Initial Favorite Items system guide
Every Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia has a set of Favorite item categories that influence three systems: Comfort boosts, Friendship gains, and Trade value bonuses. There are 44 Favorite categories in total, ranging from broad themes like "Cute stuff" and "Wooden stuff" to specific interests like "Shiny stuff" and "Group Activities." Each Pokemon has its own combination of Favorites.
System | Effect of Favorites |
|---|---|
Comfort | Placing items matching a Pokemon's Favorites in its home or habitat increases Comfort Level faster. Favorite-matched items generate larger sparkles when placed, indicating the bonus. |
Friendship | Giving a Pokemon a gift that matches its Favorites increases Friendship at a higher rate than non-matching gifts. |
Trading | When offering items to a Trade-specialty Pokemon, items matching its Favorites receive a 50% value bonus (displayed in orange text). This makes Favorite items more efficient trade currency. |
Open the Pokedex and navigate to a Pokemon's entry. Select the "Specialties and Likes" tab to view its Favorite categories. Each Pokemon's Favorites are visible as soon as you befriend it.
You can also learn a Pokemon's Favorites by talking to it. Pokemon occasionally mention items or themes they enjoy, which correspond to their Favorite categories.
The 44 Favorite categories cover a wide range of themes. Some common examples:
Category | Example Items |
|---|---|
Soft stuff | Beds, cushions, carpeting, Fluff-based items |
Cute stuff | Cute Dresser, Toys, small decorations |
Luxury | Gold furniture, Luxury Dresser, expensive items |
Wooden stuff | Wooden furniture, Lumber-based items, log chairs |
Pretty flowers | All flower types, potted plants, flower-based decorations |
Shiny stuff | Crystal items, Gold Ingot crafts, Glowing Stone items |
Group Activities | Tables, seats, picnic sets, party supplies |
Noisy stuff | Music Mats, CD Players, instruments, speakers |
Check every Pokemon's Favorites as soon as you befriend it. Planning furniture around Favorites from the start saves time on Comfort optimization.
When furnishing a house shared by multiple Pokemon, prioritize items that overlap with multiple residents' Favorites.
For trading, stockpile items from common Favorite categories. Having the right items on hand makes trades much more efficient.
Favorites do not change. Once you know a Pokemon's preferences, they remain the same permanently.
The larger sparkle effect when placing a Favorite item is a useful visual confirmation. If you see small sparkles, the item is not a Favorite.
