Axew is a Dragon-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Tusk Pokemon (Dex #071). It is the first stage of the Fraxure and Haxorus evolution line. Axew carries the Chop specialty, which allows it to process Small Logs into Lumber. This makes the entire Axew line essential for players who need Lumber for advanced crafting recipes. Axew is found at log-themed habitats and prefers dark environments.
Axew appears at two log-themed habitats. The Lumberjack's Workplace (#029) is the larger setup requiring four furniture items, while the Crazy Log Handicrafts (#044) is a simpler three-item version.

At the Crazy Log Handicrafts habitat, Axew is Common, Fraxure is Rare, and Haxorus is Very Rare. The Log Bed must be purchased from the PC shop at Pokemon Centers.
Both habitats can be placed in all six regions: Withered Wasteland, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, Sparkling Skylands, Palette Town, and Cloud Island. Axew is available at all times of day and in all weather conditions.
Build either log-themed habitat by gathering the required furniture and placing the pieces near each other. Log Tables and Log Chairs are standard craftable items, while the Cart and Tree Stump needed for the Lumberjack's Workplace can be found through exploration. Once the habitat forms, Axew will appear as a Common visitor. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it.
Axew has the Chop specialty. Pokemon with the Chop specialty can process Small Logs into Lumber. Lumber is a critical crafting material used for building advanced furniture, tools, and structures. Since Lumber can only be produced by Chop-specialty Pokemon, having Axew (or its evolutions) is very important for progressing through the game's building system.

In the main series, Axew evolves into Fraxure at level 38 and Fraxure evolves into Haxorus at level 48. Pokemon Pokopia does not use a traditional evolution mechanic, so all three forms appear independently at log-themed habitats.
Axew is one of the easiest Chop Pokemon to find. Build the Lumberjack's Workplace for the best chance of attracting one early in your game.
Place Axew near Small Log piles so it can start producing Lumber right away. Lumber is needed for many mid-game and late-game recipes.
Furnish Axew's home with dark, fire-lit decorations and serve sweet-flavored food to raise its Comfort Level.
