Reckless Pursuit

Reckless Pursuit is Chapter 1 of Phantom Blade Zero, following Diverging Paths. It follows Soul's escape from his pursuers and his first fight with The Hunt, Hunter of the Order.

Chapter overview

Survive the pursuit

The present-day sequence begins with Soul riding in a cart while two enemies pursue him. Continue through the chase until The Hunt confronts him. This is the first Hunt encounter, distinct from the later rematch that awards the Hunter's Chain Sickle.

Fight The Hunt

Defeat The Hunt to continue the sequence. The encounter ends with Soul falling from a cliff; the story then moves back one day rather than immediately continuing from the landing.

The Flesh Sculptor's request

In the earlier conversation, the Flesh Sculptor describes a heart in Pangzhen that can restore the dead. He asks Soul to recover it and promises a way to survive beyond the Tainted Heart's 66-day limit.

Against the Flow follows in Weeping Creek Valley. The absence of a weapon reward here should not be confused with the later Hunt battle's rewards.
