Final Beta Test
August 26, 2026 at 02:52 PM
Initial version (2026-08-26)
The Final Beta Test is the third and last closed beta for Petit Planet before the game's full release. It begins on September 20, 2026, and sign-ups opened on August 26, 2026, the same day the game was given a Winter 2026 release window. It follows the Coziness Test of late 2025 and the Stardrift Test of spring 2026.
The announcement landed while the game was on the show floor at gamescom 2026, where the release window was revealed during the Opening Night Live broadcast. Official material describes the global test as a "limited-access, data-wipe test with no in-game purchases" and notes that the build does not represent the finished game. An end date has not been announced.

Applications run through a survey on the official site during the sign-up window. Pre-registration has to be completed first: the sign-up flow tells applicants they need to pre-register before they can apply. A limited number of participants are then selected from the valid submissions.
Selected players receive a test invitation and download instructions by email before the test opens, so the address given on the survey has to be correct. Survey answers cannot be edited after submission, which covers the email address, the account details, and the device information used to decide which mobile build a participant is given.
Route | How it works | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|
Official sign-up survey | Complete the Final Beta Test survey on the official site inside the sign-up window. A limited number of participants are selected from valid submissions. | |||
Community events | Follow the game's official channels and take part in their events for a chance to win test access. | |||
Earlier-test players | Players who reached Level 3 on the Luca Arbour in either the Coziness Test or the Stardrift Test may be granted access. |
The third route is not automatic. Anyone qualifying through an earlier test still has to submit the sign-up survey with accurate information, and the stated bar for both earlier tests is "Reached Luca Arbor Lv. 3". Test access is for personal use only: transferring, sharing, lending, or selling it is prohibited and costs the account its access.
Every selected participant receives PC access. Mobile access is granted for either iOS or Android based on the device information given on the survey, and anyone who indicated they have no compatible mobile device receives PC access only. Logging in with the same account carries progress between the PC build and the mobile build.
Test access is bound to the first devices used to log in, and each account may use one PC and one mobile device for the run of the test. Switching to a different device on the same platform after binding can trigger a suspension, and moving from an iPhone to an iPad counts as a mobile device switch. Replacing PC hardware, reinstalling the operating system, upgrading a phone's operating system, or performing a factory reset can all be read by the system as a device change. Suspensions caused by these actions are not appealable, and a suspended account cannot continue in the test.
Platform | Recommended specification |
|---|---|
PC | Windows 10 or later; Intel i5 (11th Gen) or AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series or better; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT or better; 16 GB RAM; 18 GB available storage |
iOS | iOS 14.0 or later; iPhone XS or later, excluding the iPhone XR; 4 GB RAM; 10 GB available storage. iPad models with equivalent or better chip performance are also supported. |
Android | Android 9.0 or later; Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1000, or Kirin 990 or better; 6 GB RAM; 12 GB available storage |
Emulators are not supported in this test.
The test client ships in 15 languages: English, Japanese, French, Indonesian, Thai, Russian, German, Spanish, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Turkish, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The official site now serves the same 15 locales.
Condition | Detail |
|---|---|
Data wipe | The servers close when the test ends, and test account information and game data are deleted unless otherwise authorized. |
Purchases (global build) | None, either in game or through the official website. |
Internet | A connection is required at all times while playing. |
Content sharing | Streaming, recording, and screenshots are allowed within applicable laws and platform policies. Data mining and other misuse of game content are not. |
Account trading | Transferring, sharing, lending, or selling test access, accounts, or the client is prohibited. |
The mainland Chinese edition of the game runs its own test on the same schedule under a different name and different commercial terms. It is called the Connection Test, it starts on the same September 20, 2026 date, and its recruitment window matches the global one day for day.
The commercial terms are where the two diverge. Where the global Final Beta Test runs with no purchases of any kind, the Chinese test is described as a billed test: top-ups are enabled while it runs, and amounts spent during the test are returned as in-game items after the game's public launch under separately published rules. Sign-ups for the Chinese test route through a community activity page rather than the global survey. Both tests are limited-access, both run on PC (Windows only) and mobile, both exclude emulators, and both wipe player data when they close.
Because of this split, the "no in-game purchases" condition should always be read as a property of the global test rather than of the September 20 test as a whole.
Test | Dates | Platforms | Notes | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Coziness Test | November 7 to December 1, 2025 | PC, iOS | First closed beta. Established the on-planet life-sim loop and the opening Neighbors roster. | ||
Stardrift Test | April 21 to May 25, 2026 | PC, iOS, Android | Added the Galactic Bazaar, a playable Starsea Voyage system, and Archiboos. |
Final Beta Test | Begins September 20, 2026 | PC (Windows only), iOS, Android | Third and final beta, ahead of a Winter 2026 release. |
A separate long-term playtest called the Staycation Program runs alongside the public betas as a small-scale, confidential effort.
The test's end date has not been given. The monetization model for the released game has not been confirmed either, and the global test's no-purchases rule covers the test itself rather than the launch build. Nothing has been published about what the test build contains beyond the systems already shown in the two earlier betas, and no patch notes or content list for the September build accompanied the sign-up announcement.
