Oni Armaments

Expanded Oni Armaments with Two Celestials, R1 activation, yellow soul feedback
Oni Armaments are special weapons unlocked by the Oni Gauntlet. They deal significantly higher damage than Musashi's base katana attacks, and they burn the gauntlet's blue-soul reserve to activate.
Oni Armaments run on the Oni Power Gauge, which fills as Musashi collects blue souls from defeated enemies. With the gauge full enough, a press of the dedicated input (R1 on PlayStation hardware, according to hands-on previews) swings Musashi into the armament's special moveset. The animation is cinematic and different from a regular katana string, which doubles as a readable cue that the gauge has been spent.
The first confirmed Oni Armament is Two Celestials, a pair of twin daggers. Hands-on previews from the gamescom 2025 demo describe it as a short, powerful flurry that chews through dense groups and can strip a large chunk of a boss health bar in a single activation. The weapon is explicitly tied to Musashi's lore, which matches the broader pattern of Capcom framing each armament as a story artefact rather than a generic upgrade slot.
Because blue souls are the rarest and most limited of the three soul types, Oni Armaments function as a limited burst resource rather than a default attack. They are at their best against bosses and against dense enemy groups where burst damage matters more than sustained damage per second.
Hitting enemies with an Oni Armament generates yellow souls on successful hits. That feedback loop means committing the blue-soul investment against a group can actually net Musashi enough yellow souls to stabilise his health bar in the process, turning a pure burst option into a soft sustain tool during intense encounters.
