Overview
Persona 5 Royal is one of the two Persona 5 series titles featured in the Version 1.0 launch music collaboration for Neverness to Everness. Two tracks from the Persona 5 Royal soundtrack are included: "Beneath the Mask -rain-" and "Life Will Change." Both tracks play through the in-car radio while driving vehicles around Hethereau and through the Walkman portable music player when exploring on foot.
Persona 5 Royal is the expanded edition of the 2016 JRPG Persona 5, originally released in 2019 (Japan) and 2020 (worldwide). The score is celebrated for its acid-jazz character that blends with the title's stylish thieving narrative. The two tracks featured in NTE are among the most recognisable songs from the score and represent the contemplative and high-energy ends of the Persona 5 sound.
Featured Tracks
Both tracks were confirmed during the April 18, 2026 Launch Preview Special Program and went live in NTE at server open on April 29, 2026.
Track | Type | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|
Beneath the Mask -rain- | Atmospheric / contemplative | Late-night drives, rooftop walks, and contemplative downtime |
Life Will Change | High-energy heist anthem | Combat-driving music, Pink Paws Heist runs, and stagger-bar break windows |
Beneath the Mask -rain-
"Beneath the Mask -rain-" is a low-tempo, jazz-infused track. The piece centres on smooth keyboard chords and soft scat vocals, providing an atmosphere of contemplative calm in an otherwise high-energy soundtrack. In Neverness to Everness, the track suits late-night drives through Hethereau's rain-slicked streets and rooftop walks during the day-night cycle's evening hours. The mood pairs naturally with the city's neon-lit aesthetic and the pause-and-reflect rhythm of urban exploration.
Life Will Change
"Life Will Change" is the high-energy heist anthem from Persona 5, featuring driving brass, energetic vocals, and a memorable hook. In NTE, Life Will Change works particularly well as combat-driving music during street racing and Pink Paws Heist runs. The track's tempo and energy match the stakes-up rhythm of high-pressure gameplay, providing a thematic callback to its original heist context.
How to Listen
Both tracks are included on the in-car radio playlist and the Walkman library. Players can switch radio stations while driving any vehicle, or activate the Walkman during on-foot exploration to keep the music playing. Tracks can be paused, skipped, and shuffled through the in-game music interface.
In-Car Radio. Tune the radio to a Persona-curated station while driving any vehicle around Hethereau. The system remembers the last station played when the player re-enters a vehicle.
Walkman. The portable music player carries the same library across district transitions. Use the music interface to mix the two Royal tracks with the nine tracks from Persona 5: The Phantom X and the Tower of Fantasy crossover tracks for a varied playlist.
No unlock paywall. Both tracks are added to the player's library automatically once the in-game music feature unlocks (post-prologue plus vehicle or Walkman acquisition).

Why This Collaboration Matters
Featuring Persona 5 Royal music in Neverness to Everness is unusual at the scale shown. Licensing of mainline Persona soundtracks for use in non-Atlus games has traditionally been limited; the inclusion of two Persona 5 Royal tracks at NTE's launch represents a significant cross-publisher arrangement. The collaboration also signals NTE's positioning within the urban-action-RPG space alongside the Persona series, sharing modern-city aesthetics, jazz-inflected music tastes, and stylish combat presentation.
Combined Persona Track Total
Combining the two Persona collaborations, Neverness to Everness features twelve Persona-series tracks at launch: two from Persona 5 Royal (this article) and nine from Persona 5: The Phantom X. The Royal pair anchors the contemplative end of the combined library; the Phantom X nine cover the high-energy and battle-music side. Together they form the centrepiece of the Version 1.0 music collaboration set.
Launch Availability
Both Persona 5 Royal tracks were available immediately at server open on April 29, 2026 across all four global server regions (Asia, America, Europe, SEA) and on the Mainland China client which had already launched on April 23, 2026. There is no event window: the tracks are a permanent addition to the in-game music library rather than a limited-time crossover.
Both regional clients ship with the same Persona 5 Royal track set; there is no Mainland China exclusive or global exclusive track at launch.
Tips
Pair Beneath the Mask -rain- with on-foot exploration. The track suits the slower pace of Affinity Bond interactions and downtime in central city districts.
Use Life Will Change for combat or chase sequences. The driving brass and tempo match Pink Paws Heist runs, anomaly fights, and street racing especially well.
Mix with the Phantom X nine for variety. Players can shuffle the two Royal tracks together with the nine Phantom X tracks for a full eleven-song Persona playlist.
Watch for additional tracks via patch notes. The launch two are confirmed in-game. Additional Persona-series tracks may be added across post-launch patches; keep an eye on the in-game music library after each Patch Notes update.
