Overview
Cooking is one of the daily-life mini-games of Neverness to Everness, and a key entry point into the city's broader food economy. Players prepare dishes from gathered ingredients, run cafe and restaurant businesses through the City Tycoon framework, and unlock affinity-relevant cooking moments with companion characters at the Eibon Antique Shop. The system rewards Fons, Annulith, and combat-relevant consumables across the game's progression curve.
This page covers the cooking system end-to-end: confirmed launch recipes, ingredient acquisition routes, the Eibon kitchen as a story location, and the cafe and coffee-shop economic loops. For the full per-recipe master index, see the Recipes article.
Adler and Eibon's Kitchen
Adler is an A-Class Incantation character and the resident butler-cook at the Eibon Antique Shop. While he is a formidable combatant wielding a cane sword and summoned Sunyas, his domestic role centres on preparing meals for the team. He is described as a calming, reliable presence who handles the cooking with the same precision he brings to combat. His distinctive habit of never opening his eyes adds an air of mystery to even routine kitchen tasks.
The meals Adler prepares are part of the everyday rhythm of life at Eibon, reinforcing the game's emphasis on grounding its supernatural setting in relatable daily routines. The Eibon Antique Shop is the player's home base, and returning to find Adler cooking creates a sense of belonging between missions and anomaly investigations. Players can interact with Adler during meal preparation to trigger dialogue scenes and build Affinity Bond with him.

Coffee Shop Work
Among the daily-life activities available in Hethereau, players can work shifts at coffee shops. The activity was confirmed during the Co-Ex Test alongside other urban occupations like taxi driving and Fishing. Working at a coffee shop is one of several ways to earn Fons outside of combat and Anomaly Commissions. The activity involves serving customers, managing drink orders, and completing them within time limits.
Coffee-shop work is accessible as a Hethereau Hobby through the City Tycoon menu. Performance during a shift influences the tip multiplier and the quality grade for that day's earnings. Higher-grade shifts unlock secondary cafe sub-businesses on the larger City Tycoon track.
Cafe Management
The business management system in Neverness to Everness allows players to build commercial ventures in Hethereau. Players can grow from a small hole-in-the-wall cafe to penthouse-tier ownership over time, mirroring the larger urban-life simulation that sets NTE apart from other open-world action RPGs. Cafe management is part of the broader economic progression system, where players invest in and expand businesses to generate passive income.
The cafe business connects to the City Tycoon levelling system. Advancing the City Tycoon rank unlocks new features, properties, and business types. Purchases for the cafe (ingredients, furniture, equipment) flow through the same vendor and supplier ecosystem that supports cooking ingredient gathering, making the two systems interlocking.
Daily Cooking Routine
Cooking integrates with the daily-loop pacing of the game in several ways:
Bond Quests via Adler. Cooking interactions with Adler at Eibon trigger short cutscenes and small Affinity Bond gains. These are gated by the daily gift-cap rule (max 10 gifts per character per day).
Cafe shift income. A coffee-shop or cafe shift typically clears within 5-10 minutes and pays out Fons plus small bonus rewards (often consumables or daily mission progress).
Recipe quest items. Some recipes (Cake Recipe, 100 Healthy Meals Kids Love) are unique S-Rank quest items used in narrative content rather than combat consumables; these are crafted once for the relevant story step.
Daily ingredient runs. Open-world ingredient gathering pairs naturally with daily exploration. Routes that combine Annulith pick-ups with ingredient farming let players knock out two daily goals on a single loop.
Tips
Read the Recipes master index before chasing a specific dish. The Recipes article lists every confirmed launch recipe with full ingredient amounts and unlock conditions, so players can plan ingredient runs around the recipes they want.
Stockpile cafe-shop staples first. Coffee Beans, Milk, Flour, and Sugar appear in the largest number of recipes. Building a buffer of these four ingredients in storage unlocks the most cafe meals at once.
Use cooking interactions for low-effort affinity. Adler interactions during meal prep give small Affinity gains without spending gift items, which is especially helpful for free-to-play players managing the 10-gift-per-day cap.
Pair cafe management with City Tycoon progression. Cafe income compounds faster once City Tycoon rank unlocks the ingredient-supplier discount tier. Cycle ingredient purchases through the discounted supplier whenever possible.
Cook quest-locked recipes once and move on. S-Rank Quest Items like the Cake Recipe are not combat consumables. Cook them only when the relevant quest step opens; do not waste rare ingredients on speculative crafting.
