Divine Skills
September 12, 2026 at 12:58 AM
Initial version (2026-09-11)
Divine Skills are the one gameplay system Nodusfall has named and described from several directions. They are abilities taken from the enemies you defeat, equipped before you deploy, and charged during a fight until they can be released. The Chinese material calls them 神格技能 and the Japanese material 神格スキル, both of which translate as skills of divine rank.
Three separate pieces of first-party material describe them.
Source of the wording | What it states |
|---|---|
The official site pillar | "Reap divine power from your enemies to unlock Divine Skills that are yours alone. Turn their own might against them." |
The debut news post | Defeating powerful creatures rewards players with valuable resources and unlocks new skills and weapons, further enhancing their builds. |
The developer FAQ of August 28, 2026 | Divine Skills are described as overwhelmingly powerful abilities that widen a team's tactical options and can sometimes turn a fight around. |
The Chinese press release adds the same idea in the other direction: after beating a strong enemy, players take its power for themselves and unlock a dedicated Divine Skill, described in-world as turning an opponent's own methods back on them.
Everything in this section comes from the closed-doors press demo played on August 26, 2026. It was a build in development and none of it is a specification for the finished game.
Property | Behaviour in the August 26, 2026 development build |
|---|---|
Types | Attack, defence and support |
When they are set | Before deploying on a contract, alongside the character and weapon choice |
How they charge | A gauge fills as you land hits on enemies. At full charge the skill can be released |
Role matching | Equipping one that suits your character's role granted an extra passive effect |
Off-role use | Equipping one outside your role was allowed and encouraged to cover a gap in the party |
Swapping | Freely swappable, so an offence-focused character could carry a healing option |
How the pool grows | Beating bosses adds more of them |
Input | On a controller, a held shoulder button combined with a face button |
One attending writer took a Divine Skill that turned their character into the beast they rode as a mount, fighting with paw swipes and tail strikes, and noted it carried a cooldown on the same scale as an ultimate.
The Chinese press release sets out a build system with three axes: weapons, class skills, and Divine Skills. Divine Skills are the axis that comes from what you have beaten rather than from what you have chosen, which makes them the part of a build that grows with the bestiary.
Axis | Chinese term | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
Weapons | 武器 | Weapons differ in performance and can be customised. Weapon customisation and skill upgrades were described as planned rather than present in the demo |
Class skills | 职业技能 | The active skills belonging to the character you picked, roughly four per character in the demo build |
Divine Skills | 神格技 | Taken from defeated enemies, slotted before deployment, swappable between runs |
Ultimates are a separate thing again. In the demo they sat on cooldowns over two minutes and changed depending on the sub-class chosen after picking a character, and the interface indicated which ultimates suited which role.
As of September 11, 2026, none of the following appears on the official site, in the debut post, or in the developer FAQ.
No individual Divine Skill has been named in first-party material.
No limit has been given on how many can be held or equipped at once.
It is not stated whether the pool is tied to one character or shared across an account.
It is not stated whether the three types seen in the development build are the final set.
The relationship between Divine Skills and the relics claimed from tougher foes has not been explained.
