Overview
Fabricated Dice are the primary currency used to roll on the standard (permanent) Scarborough Fair board in Neverness to Everness. The game's character acquisition system, called the Scarborough Fair, replaces traditional gacha pulls with a board-game-style mechanic where players roll dice to advance a game piece called Chuppa along a path filled with reward spaces. Each Fabricated Dice consumed equals one roll on the standard board.
Fabricated Dice are distinct from Solid Dice, which are used exclusively on limited (time-restricted) character banners. The standard board features a permanent pool of characters that does not rotate, while limited boards offer featured characters for a set period. Both dice types function identically in terms of board mechanics; the difference is which board they grant access to.
The Scarborough Fair Board
The Scarborough Fair is a Monopoly-style board with a main loop and branching side paths accessible through directional tiles. When players spend a Fabricated Dice, they roll a standard six-sided die and their Chuppa advances that many spaces. Each space on the board is tied to a specific reward, and the board layout makes it visually clear what players can earn from each position.
The board displays the player's total roll count in the top-left corner, letting them track how close they are to the next guaranteed character. This transparency is one of the system's defining features compared to traditional gacha models, as players can see exactly what reward each space offers before rolling.
Board Tile Types
Each space on the Scarborough Fair board corresponds to a specific reward type. The following tiles appear on both standard and limited boards:
Tile | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Journey Together | S-Class character | Grants a random S-Class on the standard board or the featured character on limited boards. |
Hero Chest | 3% S-Class chance; otherwise B-Class Arc + 2 Warp Pieces | Gold suitcase. Better odds than Apprentice Chests. |
Apprentice Chest | 0.2% S-Class chance; otherwise B-Class Arc | Purple suitcase. Most common tile type. |
Miracle Box | Guaranteed A-Class Arc | Black box that always awards an A-Class equipment piece. |
Roll Again | Bonus dice roll(s) | Returns a specified number of free rolls immediately. |
Warp Chess Box | Warp Pieces | Grants a stated quantity of Warp Pieces for the shop. |
Lost Chess Box | Lost Pieces | Grants Lost Pieces used for upgrade items and monthly pulls. |
Slumberland | Guardian chase mini-game | Spawns a guardian 9 tiles ahead. Catch it within 3 turns for 30 Warp Pieces. |
Rainbow Bridge | Path split access | Landing near a path split unlocks a bridge to a side loop with a guaranteed S-Class card or bonus dice. |
Pity System
The Scarborough Fair board has a built-in pity mechanic that guarantees players receive an S-Class character within a set number of rolls:
Base S-Class Rate: approximately 1.88% per roll when accounting for all tile types (the base rate on individual tiles is about 1%) under normal board conditions.
A-Class Guarantee: An A-Class character or Arc is guaranteed every 10 rolls.
Soft Pity (70 rolls): If no S-Class has been obtained after 70 rolls, the board transforms. Hero Chests are replaced with additional Journey Together tiles, boosting the effective S-Class rate to approximately 19.5% per roll. Most players obtain their S-Class between rolls 70 and 80.
Hard Pity (90 rolls): An S-Class character is automatically awarded at 90 rolls if one has not already been obtained.
On the standard board (where Fabricated Dice are used), the S-Class character received at pity is drawn from the permanent character pool. On limited boards (using Solid Dice), the pity always awards the featured character with no 50/50 split.
How to Obtain Fabricated Dice
Fabricated Dice can be acquired through several methods:
Annulith Conversion: The premium currency Annulith can be converted into Fabricated Dice for standard board rolls.
Gameplay Rewards: Daily routines, weekly activities, anomaly hunts, commissions, and exploration tasks all provide Fabricated Dice.
Pre-Registration Rewards: The global pre-registration campaign awarded Fabricated Dice at the 25-million (5 Dice) and 35-million (15 Dice) milestones.
Events and Missions: Time-limited events and story progression offer Fabricated Dice as completion rewards.
Standard vs. Limited Boards
Understanding the difference between the two board types is essential for resource planning:
Aspect | Standard Board | Limited Board |
|---|---|---|
Currency | Fabricated Dice | Solid Dice |
Availability | Permanent; always accessible | Time-limited; rotates with new character releases |
Character Pool | Multiple S-Class and A-Class characters | One featured S-Class character per banner |
S-Class at Pity | Random from the permanent pool | Always the featured character (no 50/50) |
Cosmetics | Standard pool items | May include glider skins, vehicle skins, character outfits |
No Weapon Banner
Unlike many competing gacha titles, Neverness to Everness does not have a separate weapon banner. Most S-Class and A-Class weapon equipment (called "Arcs") are earnable through gameplay or purchasable with Tri-Keys in the Arc Shop (25 Tri-Keys per S-Class Arc). This means Fabricated Dice and Solid Dice are spent exclusively on character acquisition, not diluted by weapon pools.
Awakening System
Pulling duplicate characters through the Scarborough Fair board contributes to the Awakening system. Characters can be awakened up to six times by obtaining duplicates, similar to the constellation system in comparable titles. Each awakening level unlocks additional skills or stat bonuses. When a duplicate is pulled, players also receive Warp Pieces, which can be spent in the Warp Shop for additional rewards or used to purchase more pulls.
Tips
Save Fabricated Dice for characters you want from the permanent pool. The standard board never rotates, so there is no urgency to roll immediately.
The soft pity at 70 rolls dramatically increases S-Class rates. If you are near 70, it is worth spending a few more Fabricated Dice to push into the modified board.
Fabricated Dice cost 160 per pull. Budget your resources to avoid running dry before reaching pity thresholds.
The launch period provides approximately 80 to 90 free pulls from pre-registration rewards and early progression. Spend these strategically on the board type that best matches your priorities.
Warp Pieces earned from board tiles can be reinvested into additional pulls, extending the value of each Fabricated Dice spent.
