My Time at Evershine was funded through a Kickstarter campaign titled "My Time at Evershine - The Next My Time Tale," which ran for 30 days from September 24 to October 24, 2024. Pathea Games asked for $200,000. The campaign closed at 1415% of that goal, and with late pledges counted the total stands at $2,901,842 from 33,933 backers as of June 2026. The campaign carried the platform's "Project We Love" label and was run from the studio's home base in Chongqing, China.
One caveat applies to everything on this page: the game is unreleased, so every in-game item, feature, and character unlocked by the campaign is planned content rather than something that has shipped.
Funding
The base goal fell almost immediately. The team's own milestone posts track the pace: the first stretch goals, up through $500,000, were cleared within about three hours of launch, and the announcements kept arriving through October. The $2,000,000 mark was hit by October 14 with ten days still to go, $2,250,000 with 72 hours left, and $2,500,000 before close. A launch-day announcement trailer and a steady run of developer posts about story, recruitment, building, and co-op kept the campaign fed with material; many of those posts now double as the earliest public documentation of the game's design and are cited throughout this wiki.
Stretch goals
These are the dollar-labeled stretch goals announced across official posts. Every in-game unlock here is planned content for the unreleased game:
Milestone | Unlock | Status |
|---|---|---|
$800,000 | Special pet, designed through player submissions and a community vote | Planned |
$900,000 | Pajamas for the core romanceable cast, worn automatically at bedtime | Planned |
$1,000,000 | 80 group photo poses for the eight core characters | Planned |
$1,200,000 | A visit from Logan, with a story about the three years since the previous game | Planned |
$1,400,000 | Adjustable player height | Planned |
$1,700,000 | An additional core romanceable character, chosen by player vote | Planned |
$2,000,000 | Player body customization | Planned; an April 2026 devlog showed the implementation in progress |
$2,500,000 | No Early Access: the game moves straight to a backer alpha and a single full launch | Confirmed decision |
Beyond $2.5 million, posts named further goals: an optional "Rival Romance" feature for non-core characters, announced as the next target after the $2.25 million milestone and confirmed unlocked alongside the $2.5 million milestone; an "Expanded Wardrobe"; and one more core romanceable character at $2.75 million, which the team was still pushing for in the campaign's final hours. The extra romanceable additions ultimately made it in, with current official character counts listing ten core romanceable characters, while the Expanded Wardrobe's final status has not been publicly confirmed.
A mid-campaign recap also listed unlocked features without attaching dollar figures: a backer T-shirt cosmetic, a flirting feature, a bathtub furniture set, a player-voted social interaction (three planned by the team plus one added from community suggestions), a community vote to send one returning character to Evershine, swimming, a redesigned hot-spring date and mini-game, and ten new photo poses. All of these are planned content as well.
Backer votes
Voting ran through the whole campaign and its aftermath:
Returning character visit: backers voted on which character from the earlier games would visit Evershine. Fang won, and official posts confirmed he is "packing his bags and heading to Evershine." His appearance is planned content.
Core romanceables: four of the game's ten core romanceable characters were chosen by backer votes. The winners were revealed in January 2025 through pajama concept art.
Special pet: the $800,000 pet goal ran on player design submissions, followed by a community vote on which companions make it into the game.
Photo poses: backers were invited to help design the group photo poses.
Figurine: backers at the $350 tier vote on which figurine they receive.
Reward surveys sent out in 2025 collected further votes on core romanceable characters and preferences about returning faces from the earlier games.
Skipping Early Access
The $2.5 million goal was a structural decision rather than a feature. Instead of selling an unfinished version, Pathea committed to skipping Early Access entirely and moving straight to a closed alpha playtest with backers while development continued toward one full launch. The team framed the choice as buying a smoother development schedule and a more polished release, and confirmed it after the campaign: "Thanks to your support, we can skip Early Access and focus on the full launch!"
Reward tiers
Reward tiers ran from $20 to $10,000. Game keys were offered for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and what the campaign then called the next-generation Nintendo console, with a free platform swap promised if the Nintendo version was not available at launch. The highlights:

Developers' Pack | $10,000 | The backer's likeness as a recruitable NPC, plus a one-day studio tour |
Every tier listed an estimated delivery of May 2026. That date is stale: the game's announced release window is now 2027. These are campaign rewards, not retail editions; no retail editions or pricing have been announced. In-game reward items are delivered as add-on content tied to the backer's base game and platform.
After the campaign
Kickstarter's role did not end at close. Late pledges opened in January 2025 through an external pledge-management portal, and reward surveys rolled out in waves through the spring of 2025, collecting platform choices and the votes described above. Alpha keys for eligible backers went out in October 2025, three days before the playtest opened. The campaign page has remained a primary update hub for development news: 82 updates had been posted by June 2026, including backer-only patch notes for alpha builds, with most public updates mirrored to the game's storefront news feed.
