11Ogres are furious, fearless warriors capable of incredible violence. They are playable at Early Access launch and can take eight of the eighteen classes.2233Made for a war4455Ogres were not born into the world in the ordinary sense. They were created by the giants of the Storm Coast to counter the hordes of filth that poured into Eth-ur during the first invasions of the Spiral Lords. That is the whole of their stated purpose, and it is a military one.6677The war ended and the makers did not survive it. An unnatural cataclysmic event shattered the Storm Coast and killed the giant elders, which left the ogres both homeless and masterless in a single stroke. Everything the race became afterwards follows from that.8899They resettled in the frigid north of the continent of Aêthoril and built a stratified martial civilization there, ruled by warlords. Today they are found across the continent as renowned soldiers, loyal mercenaries and skilled craftsmen. Loyal is the word the official material uses, and it sits deliberately against the fury the same passage describes.10101111Temperament12121313The lore gives ogres an unusually wide range. Their temperament swings from the stillness of a placid sky to the unadulterated fury of a raging tempest, and they vary greatly in both intelligence and disposition. The race is not written as uniformly brutish, and the class list supports that: ogres can be monks, shamans and elementalists as readily as they can be fighters.14141515None of them fears death, for the stated reason that only the bravest will feast in the Shattered Halls of their elders. The Shattered Halls are named once and never described, and the echo of the shattered Storm Coast in the name is left for the reader to notice.16161717Appearance18181919No physical description of ogres has been published as of September 2026. The race was being modelled and rigged for play as early as mid-2023, alongside the halflings, but development reports record progress rather than description.202021+22+2123Homeland and starting city22242325The frigid north of the continent, which matches the description of the continent's biomes running from frigid northern wastelands down through plains, jungles, forests and deserts. See Aethoril.24262527Ogres are not among the races given an explicit starting city, so the race, faith and class rule applies. See Starting Cities. There is one related piece of world content: a location named the Pyrmos Ogre Fort was reported in the Sungreet Strand zone during development, although that report dates from 2023 and has not been reconfirmed for the launch build.26282729Classes28302931Eight classes are open to ogres. The list is martial and primal: there is no arcane specialist beyond the Elementalist, no divine class at all, and no Rogue. Ogres are one of only three races that can take the Monk, and one of the few with both the Archer and the Ranger.30323133ClassArchetypeGroup roleArcherHigh-Mobility Marksman TinkererRanged damageBeastmasterAnimal-Taming Primal BrawlerMelee damage, petElementalistElemental BinderMagic damage, petFighterArmored JuggernautTank, melee damageMonkPerfected WeaponMelee damage, pullerRangerWilderness VeteranMelee and ranged damage, utilityShadow KnightAntihero Monster HunterTank, melee damageShamanSpirit CallerHealer, magic damage, support3234What is not published33353436As of September 2026, no racial stat block, attribute modifier, resistance value or racial ability list has been published for any race in Monsters & Memories. The official race material is lore plus a class list.35373638The Storm Coast, the giants, the Shattered Halls and the Spiral Lords are each named in a single clause in the ogre entry, and nothing further about any of them has been published.
