Hunts in Mistfall Hunter play out across a set of extraction maps. Three maps are confirmed by name. The developers have said more are planned beyond these, but their count and names have not been revealed, so only the confirmed three are documented here. The extraction loop you run across them is described on Extraction and Gameplay Loop.

Map | Details |
|---|---|
Brandrgarde | A cold, austere map that has been part of the game across its betas. Gyldenmist outbreaks happen there frequently. |
Hallowgrove | The designated starting map, a lush, multi-layered forest of sylvan ruins centered on the Divine Anchor landmark. It uses a No-Circle mode, meaning there is no shrinking safe zone closing in on players. |
Solemn Needles | A map built around more open exploration with its own events and escape methods, described as significantly different from Brandrgarde and carrying monsters exclusive to it. It was first shown in an in-game demo during a spring 2026 showcase. |
The Divine Anchor is a landmark within Hallowgrove, not a map of its own. It is the feature the starting map is built around. It is also where the two-phase boss Sálmar, the Cursed Moonwane is encountered, as covered on Enemies and Bosses.
Only Brandrgarde, Hallowgrove, and Solemn Needles are confirmed maps. Several other names circulate, and it is worth being precise about which are real, because they are easy to mistake for fan inventions.
Confirmed by name is not the same as playable today. Everything the developers have published about the live game since release, from the seasonal ritual that runs on Hallowgrove and Brandrgarde to the Solo Mode added to Brandrgarde in September, describes those two maps only. Solemn Needles was announced in February 2026 and described in detail, but it has not appeared in a launch line-up, a patch note, or the season roadmap since, and as of September 2026 no date has been given for it. Treat it as announced and still in development rather than as a third map you can queue into.
Three places within Hallowgrove were named when the map was introduced ahead of the June 2026 playtest, in an announcement written by the studio's own marketing staff and published through the platform holder's news channel. They are official, not fan coinages. They have not been repeated in post-launch patch notes, so read them as introductory descriptions of the map rather than as labels you will necessarily see in the current build.
Location | How it was described |
|---|---|
Divine Anchor | A pale relic that draws corrupted enemies toward its lingering power |
Hastine's Fall | Coastal highlands where a giant's corpse still radiates divine strength |
Witchery Woods | Claustrophobic shadows holding ghostly secrets, called the map's true test, where hunters confront the power of a false god |
The same announcement introduced the map under two spellings, calling it Hallowgrove in one passage and Hallowgrave in another. Every source since launch uses Hallowgrove, which is the form this wiki follows. Hallowgrave is recorded here only so that a reader meeting the variant elsewhere does not take it for a mistake.
Some maps close in on you. A shrinking Gyldenmist boundary squeezes the playable space as a match runs on, and the developers were explicit about why it exists: melee fighting happens at short range, so without a mechanism forcing hunters together, two squads that spotted each other across open ground would simply turn around and avoid the fight. The circle tightens as a run goes on, which means the longer you stay to keep looting, the more likely you are to be found. Hallowgrove is the exception, running in a No-Circle mode instead.
Individual maps carry their own systems rather than being interchangeable arenas. Brandrgarde gains a Cataclysm difficulty tier, the hardest setting in the game, where elite enemies are tougher, top-tier loot drops across the map, and every landmark is worth checking. The Ancestor Tree arrives in the first season's third phase as a random match event: break its seal to claim gifts from the ancient spirits, with rival hunters watching for the chance to take them from you. Both are part of Season 1: Soul Hunt.
Named areas inside the maps surface mostly through patch notes rather than through a published map key. Brandrgarde has a Mine Pit, identified when an August 6, 2026 fix cleared a spot there where dodging could leave a hunter stuck. Hallowgrove is the map that carries the Ancestor Tree event and, in the first season, shares the Soul Harvest ritual with Brandrgarde, which is covered on Soul Harvest.
Two more Brandrgarde areas surfaced the same way in September 2026: the Sealed Grounds, whose minimap markers were corrected on September 15, and the Verdant Grounds, where Elite Greataxe Berserkers could lose their skill lock-on until a September 3 fix. The August 28 maintenance also thinned out low-level monsters that had been placed too densely or too close to Brandrgarde's edges, and both live maps had terrain collision corrected in the same window, Hallowgrove's covering ropes and missing invisible walls.
Brandrgarde has had a dedicated Solo Mode on both Normal and Cataclysm difficulty since the September 3, 2026 live update, delivered on the mid-season schedule the developers set out on August 5. They committed to it after sustained community requests following launch, while flagging that two extra modes split the matchmaking queue and change how classes balance against each other in solo play. The balance passes since then already treat the two queues separately: the September 3 update cut the Blackarrow's Steel Arrow cooldown by more in Trio Mode than in Solo, and the Mercenary's Block Damage Boost shield was raised only in Trio. On September 9 a dynamic player cap followed for every mode, so a match can start with fewer hunters while the developers evaluate lower-density play. The rest of the season's schedule is on Season 1: Soul Hunt, and the patch-by-patch record is on Updates and Patch Notes.
