Confirmed the second weapon as the Javelin arriving in Season 2, added the named skill list, and added the launch and August 6 balance changes
11The Blackarrow is the dedicated ranged hunter among the six classes in Mistfall Hunter, fighting at distance with the bow and arrow as its exclusive weapon. You will also see the class written as Black Arrow in the reveal videos; it is the same fighter under two spellings. On the Classes page it sits as the bow specialist, and where the Mercenary muscles into a fight, the Blackarrow stays back and picks targets apart.2233The bow branches into two archetypes, the Archer and the Hunter, and the two play very differently despite sharing the same weapon.4455Archer6677The Archer fires fully charged arrows that come with strong energy recovery, which gives the class real staying power in a drawn-out fight. That sustain pairs with a Mysticfly Arrow detonation mechanic to unload heavy burst damage when the moment is right, so the Archer alternates between feeding its own resources and spiking for a big hit.8899Hunter10101111The Hunter is built around an ailment system instead. Its various debuff arrows apply strong status effects, and landing basic attacks extends how long those debuffs last. That stacking loop magnifies the build's damage over time and its crowd-control reach, making the Hunter the option for wearing enemies down and locking them in place rather than bursting them outright.121213+The class reveal named part of the arsenal that sits across both archetypes: Scattershot, Rapid Arrows, Impact Grenade, Soundwave Arrow, Lightning Arrow, and Concussive Arrow, backed by stealth and movement skills for repositioning between shots.14+1315Archetypes at a glance14161517WeaponArchetypeSignatureBow & arrowArcherFully charged arrows with strong energy recovery; Mysticfly Arrow detonation for burstBow & arrowHunterDebuff arrows that stack status effects, with basic attacks extending debuff duration1618Second weapon171918-The Blackarrow's second weapon category did not make the launch build. The developers confirmed it slipped because of development timelines and will arrive in a later season, so the bow and its two archetypes are the class's complete kit at release. No details about what that weapon will be have been shared. For the two-weapon stance system this fits into, see Combat and Weapons.20+The Blackarrow's second weapon category did not make the launch build. The developers confirmed it slipped because of development timelines, so the bow and its two archetypes were the class's complete kit at release. The season roadmap has since confirmed what it is: a Javelin, arriving in Season 2 alongside a new season theme and a season-exclusive progression system. For the two-weapon stance system this fits into, see Combat and Weapons.21+22+Balance at launch and after23+24+The Blackarrow came out of solo-mode testing slightly overturned, with some skills and talents dominating high-tier gear matches, and with the Featherlight Arrow and Splatter Arrow talents poorly matched to their own playstyles. The launch pass trimmed the special arrows and re-pointed the talents. Mysticfly Arrow's True damage scaling was reduced slightly so it pierces high-tier affixes less easily, Paralysis Arrow's Exhausted state was shortened, and Shadow Step's charge-speed boost on breaking stealth was toned down.25+26+The talent fixes cut in both directions. For the Archer, the Sepsis talent now requires a fully charged bow to boost splash damage, but scales that damage up further, which rewards the charged-shot rhythm the archetype is built on. For the Hunter, Power Infusion lost its fully charged requirement entirely and had its range expanded, matching the archetype's high-frequency hits.27+28+After launch, the August 6 update removed the impact effect from Steel Arrow's uncharged shots and slightly reduced it on fully charged shots, alongside fixes for abnormal displacement when jumping after a side dodge and a stray collision prompt when aiming at stealthed units. The running record is on Updates and Patch Notes.
