Ales and Moka

Added Ales's role in the early Searching for Ales quest, where he is found in Iris Hamlet, protected from a horde of Animon, and where the Holoken and starter Animon are introduced.
Ales and Moka are two connected characters in LumenTale: Memories of Trey. Ales is the nephew of the researcher Kapan, and Moka is a robot that Ales repaired after finding it broken in the Scarlet Woods. They are part of the cast that crosses paths with Trey and eventually join him as traveling companions.

Ales carries a personal grief: he lost his parents in an accident and afterward came to disdain Animon and the Lumen. That outlook sets him apart in a world built around catching and bonding with creatures, and it shapes how he relates to Trey and the others. He was fostered by his uncle Kapan after the loss.
Ales lost his parents in an accident before the start of the story and was fostered by his uncle Dr. Kapan. That loss shapes both his initial wariness around outsiders and his deep attachment to Moka, the robot he repaired after finding her broken in the same Scarlet Woods clearing where Trey is later discovered. Over the course of Trey's first arc in town, the cool reception toward Trey softens. The two boys take their first steps as a Lumen team together, and Moka comes along as a quiet third presence at their side.
Ales is central to one of the game's earliest main quests, Searching for Ales. He is found in the southern part of Iris Hamlet, southwest of Kapan's house, where he becomes cornered by a horde of wild Animon. Trey must jump in to protect him, which serves as the Holoken tutorial. After Ales is saved, Trey returns to Kapan's house to rest, and the next day Kapan offers a starting Animon after entering the Anispace, followed by the Animon capture tutorial. Moka is a robotic companion that Ales found broken in the Scarlet Woods, the same forest where Trey was discovered, and brought back into working order. Despite being a machine, Moka expresses emotions through LED strips, a charming touch that fits the game's heartfelt tone.
The fate of Ales's uncle affects how Ales frames his own journey. If Trey saves Kapan during the prologue, Ales joins out of personal growth; if Kapan dies, Ales joins to pay tribute to his late uncle. See Should You Help Kapan or Not.
