The Nexus is the single most consequential object in a Like or Die match. Each team has one, and it is the source of that team's respawns.
The Rule
As long as a team's Nexus remains intact, its players can jump back onto the stage even after falling. The moment the Nexus goes down, respawns are gone for good. Destroying every rival Nexus and defending your own is how a team becomes the last one standing.
The permanence is what gives the object its weight. A Nexus is not a spawn timer or a capture point that changes hands. It is a one-way switch that converts a team from recoverable to fragile, and it cannot be undone.
Effect on the Match
Nexus state | Consequence for that team |
|---|---|
Intact | Players return to the match after dying. |
Destroyed | No further respawns. Every remaining player death is permanent. |
With four teams in a match, this produces a staggered collapse rather than a single elimination moment. NC describes the broadcast reaching a fever pitch as Nexuses fall one by one, so the escalation is intentional.
Attack and Defence
The Nexus is the confirmed anchor for the Block Gun. Building defensive barriers to protect the Nexus and carving new entry routes to reach an enemy's are the two uses NC gives for the tool, which makes the object the focal point of the building system as well as the win condition.
