Light No Fire is unreleased as of May 2026. Hello Games has not announced a release date, a release window, console versions, system requirements, or pricing. This article tracks what has been officially confirmed versus what remains speculation, with a bias toward the conservative answer in every case.
Confirmed Platforms

PC via Steam is the only platform Hello Games has confirmed. The Steam store page (App ID 2719590) has been live since shortly after the December 2023 reveal and is the canonical source of launch metadata. As of May 2026:

Supported Languages
The Steam page lists eight supported languages:
English
French
Italian
German
Spanish (Spain)
Russian
Simplified Chinese
Traditional Chinese
The split between interface, audio, and subtitle support has not been published. The press kit emphasises this is the initial list; further language support has not been confirmed.
Console Versions
No console version of Light No Fire has been confirmed. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch availability are common community expectations because Hello Games has shipped No Man's Sky on multiple consoles, but expectation is not announcement. Hello Games has not signalled timing, pricing, or platform parity for any console release.
Release Date
Hello Games has not announced a release date, a release year, a release window, or even a vague coming soon framing. The Steam page lists the release date as To be announced, and that has been stable since the December 2023 reveal.
Latest Development Status
The most recent direct Hello Games public statement about Light No Fire was in November 2025, during the Steam Awards Labor of Love nominations. Sean Murray posted a written update that described Light No Fire as our next Labor of Love, confirmed that another tiny team at Hello is continuing at pace on it, and said he was really pleased with the progress we are making. He gave no specifics about systems, scope, release window, or next showing.
Earlier in 2025, during the August Voyagers update for No Man's Sky, Murray confirmed that some of the new technology shipped in that update (specifically the walkable, room-by-room ship construction system) is shared with Light No Fire and powers the game's boat-building systems. That statement is the most concrete recent piece of public information about Light No Fire mechanics.
In early February 2026, Sean Murray posted cryptic emoji teases on social media that the community initially hoped were about Light No Fire. Murray later clarified they referred to the No Man's Sky Remnant update, not to Light No Fire. There has been no concrete Light No Fire news since the November 2025 Steam Awards update.
Across 2024 and 2025, Light No Fire was not present at Summer Game Fest, The Game Awards, Gamescom, or any major industry event after the original December 2023 reveal. Hello Games has consistently followed a show when we are ready approach since the No Man's Sky launch, and Light No Fire's silence is in line with that policy.
Pricing
No pricing has been published. The Steam store page does not display a price as of May 2026.
Early Access, Beta, And Demo Status
No early access programme, no public beta, and no playable demo have been announced. Hello Games has not run a closed-beta or playtest sign-up for Light No Fire.
