Initial Spirit-Casting Eight Pillars article
Spirit-Casting Eight Pillars (铸灵八柱, Zhùlíng Bāzhù) is a named trial site in the East Aerfall Highlands (known in Chinese as 东云落高地, East Yunluo Highlands), tied to Dongfang Yao's personal progression storyline. It is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the East Yunluo map and reads as a standalone monument at the heart of the highland wilds, in contrast to the West side's town-and-manor density around Frostcloud Town.
The site is a formation of eight ceremonial pillars arranged in a circle, each inscribed with motifs relating to the Flow (流) system and the Resonance Styles players cultivate through gameplay. In-world, the pillars are described as a spirit-casting rite ground from an older era.
In gameplay terms, the pillars anchor a multi-phase trial in which players activate each pillar in sequence while fending off spawning enemies, with Dongfang Yao participating as a story-bound companion. Successful completion yields Dongfang Yao-specific rewards and unlocks dialogue that expands his background arc.
Because the trial is keyed to Dongfang Yao, the Eight Pillars function partly as an equivalent to the Dream Realm content tied to other signature heroes in the launch build, with an emphasis on showcasing his specific Flow style. It is also one of the locations the main-story cast references during Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 conversations, reinforcing East Yunluo's character as 'Dongfang Yao's home ground' in contrast to West Yunluo's investigation beats.
The Eight Pillars sit on an exposed hilltop platform with wide sight lines, backed by weathered stone ruins. Like Guiling, it belongs to the older, pre-Jixia civilization, but where Guiling evokes mourning, the Eight Pillars feels proving-ground martial. It is a fitting centerpiece for East Yunluo's open-field exploration.
