Honor of Kings: World is designed to be playable both solo and cooperatively. Cross-Platform multiplayer is confirmed, meaning PC and mobile players can group together.
Story missions, dungeons, and boss encounters support 2-4 player co-op. Players can invite friends or use matchmaking, which pairs players of similar rank. A summoning system lets players call for help during boss fights without disrupting the encounter in progress.
8-player raids are planned for endgame content. These are expected to be the most challenging encounters, requiring coordinated team compositions.
Every piece of content in the game can be completed solo. AI companion assistants fill the roles of absent human players during dungeons and boss encounters. Lead Designer Simon confirmed this at GDC 2025, saying the team wanted solo players to have a complete experience.
Third-party sources report PvP modes including 1v1 duels, 3v3 arenas, guild wars, and territory control sieges with ranked progression. These PvP details come from a single aggregator source and have not been confirmed by official channels or press hands-on experiences.

The game includes housing, crafting, and shared world exploration as social activities. Frostcloud Town in the West Aerfall Highlands is described as a guild gathering hub. Additional social features like chat, voice communication, and cross-platform friend lists have been reported but not officially detailed.
