Guns & Dragons can be played solo or in online co-op. The current Steam page describes it as a game for 1 to 4 players and lists Single-player, Online Co-op and Cross-Platform Multiplayer among its features.
The squad size grew during development. At the July 2026 reveal the game supported up to three players, and the studio expanded it to four for the second playtest in September 2026.

September 17 to 30, 2026 | Up to 4 players | Second playtest, the first build with four-player co-op |

As of October 2026 the studio's own website still lists support for up to three players.
In his gamescom 2026 interview, given while co-op was still capped at three, director Park Jun-woo described several systems built around playing together:
Difficulty settings such as monster spawns and health adjust to the number of players.
Teammates can revive a downed player.
Artifacts drop at random, but players can trade them to suit each other's builds.
Some artifacts are made for co-op, such as the whip artifact that speeds up both players when you hit a teammate.
Backstabs deal bonus damage, and spreading out to split aggro makes them easier to land.
Breaking a health potion creates a healing zone that several players can share.
Multiplayer-only events were in preparation.
Several players can choose the same character. See Runes, Artifacts and Perks and Playable Characters.
The director said each player starts on their own island, heads to a lighthouse and boards a ship. When matchmaking connects a squad, the players' islands anchor next to the lighthouse in real time so everyone can see each other's builds. See Base Building.
The game has store pages on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and Korean press reported that the second playtest ran on both. Steam lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer, but as of October 2026 the studio has not detailed which platforms can play together.
As of October 2026 the studio has not published details on offline play, server hosting or a player cap beyond four.
