Between runs in Guns & Dragons, players rest and build in a custom-built offshore platform that the Steam page also calls a hideout and an offshore base of operations. Materials won in combat expand the base, and the store says the bigger the base, the more tech and gear players can forge. What they craft between runs determines their abilities in the next one.
Facilities and Upgrades
According to the Steam page, hard-earned materials are used to level up the base, unlock new facilities and construct a magical companion. The same passage says players can fine-tune their firearms' functions and settings for the expeditions ahead. The July 2026 reveal described it as the place to unlock permanent upgrades.
Materials
In his gamescom 2026 interview, director Park Jun-woo said gold is only used within a run, while materials such as wood and stone are brought back to camp for building. He said the team wanted a clear resource loop where materials carried out of runs are put to use, and planned to add minigames and other systems at the camp to give players more reason to bring valuable resources home.
The Magical Companion
The store page says players construct their magical companion at the base. As of October 2026 the studio has not said what the companion does or what it looks like.
The Base in Multiplayer
The director described how bases appear in co-op. Each player starts on their own island, heads to a lighthouse and boards a ship. When matchmaking connects a squad, the players' islands anchor next to the lighthouse in real time, so everyone can see what the others have built. See Co-op Multiplayer.
Optional Building
The director called base building a polarizing feature and said the goal was to make it completely skippable for players who dislike building while giving players who enjoy it a place to show off.
Build Camera
In the playtest builds, base building used a third-person camera, while combat and movement were first person. A developer reply on the Steam forum said requests for first-person building, and for a full third-person mode, had been added to the team's internal discussion with no promises on direction or timing.
