Added confirmed Abu Dhabi and Dubai office locations; updated location Unconfirmed bullet
Rant Gaming is the independent studio building Fragmentary Order, a hardcore science fiction multiplayer combat simulator announced on April 12, 2026. It was founded by Nikita Buyanov as a wholly separate company from his earlier work on Escape from Tarkov, and operates as a globally distributed team of roughly 130 staff with publisher Cor3.
Around 98% of the workforce was hired specifically for this project, with only a small number of Battlestate Games consultants involved. Visual direction is led by Aaron Beck, on the project for at least eighteen months.
The studio operates as an international, primarily remote team, but it does maintain physical offices. Buyanov has named Abu Dhabi and Dubai among its office locations, alongside others, while describing remote work as the studio's main operating mode. That distributed, UAE-anchored structure fits the roughly 130-person headcount drawn together from across the games industry and film production.

Rant Gaming is its own company. It is not a Battlestate Games subsidiary or internal team, and Fragmentary Order is not a sequel or spin-off of Escape from Tarkov. Buyanov has been explicit on this point: the new studio was set up with a separate corporate structure, separate hiring, and a separate creative mandate.
Overlap with Battlestate Games is limited to a handful of consultants. Buyanov continues working on Escape from Tarkov in parallel and intends to keep doing so. Rant Gaming should be treated as a new entity rather than a Tarkov successor.
As of April 2026, Fragmentary Order has been in active production for roughly eighteen months. The first phase, around six months, covered pre-production and concept work: establishing the setting in 2251, defining the player as a remote operator of disposable clones, and locking down the visual language under Aaron Beck's direction.
The studio then moved into roughly twelve months of active development, scaling the team to its current size and bringing the first playable systems online in Unreal Engine 5. The near-term milestone is a closed alpha targeted for late 2026.
Where Escape from Tarkov is built in Unity, Rant Gaming has chosen Unreal Engine 5 for Fragmentary Order, a deliberate break with the established Tarkov tech stack. Further detail lives in the Engine and Technology article. The creative direction (hard science fiction with cyberpunk overtones, hardcore pacing, simulation depth over accessibility) is set by Buyanov, with Aaron Beck shaping the visual identity.
Several aspects of the studio remain undisclosed and should not be assumed:
A single primary headquarters city. The studio is primarily remote but keeps offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and elsewhere; which one (if any) serves as the main headquarters is not specified.
The existence or function of any regional offices.
Internal team structure, department sizes, and leadership below the top creative tier.
Named team members beyond Nikita Buyanov and Aaron Beck.
Funding structure and ownership stakes between Rant Gaming, Cor3, and any external investors.
