Added the Japanese role word Attacker; re-dated the Resonance attack note
Noctis is one of the legacy Visions in Final Fantasy Resonance. Square Enix confirmed him on August 14, 2026, in a short official video that introduced him as a Vision.

Square Enix says players can battle alongside Noctis, resonate with his Vision within the Sanctum of Light, and unleash his abilities in combat. Official material published in August 2026 filled in the profile and the kit that the first announcement left blank.
He is described as the crown prince of Lucis, a kingdom whose modern advancements were achieved through the power of the Crystal. In battle he supplements Ice and Lightning spells with an onslaught of Light physical attacks. Square Enix's Japanese text, from its August 24, 2026 announcement to a Vision video of October 9, 2026, gives him the role word Attacker.

The producer described the roster as sixteen legacy Visions, one for each numbered title from FINAL FANTASY I through XVI, and Square Enix now publishes those pairings directly. The official Japanese character page carries a sixteen-slot sprite gallery captioned with an entry title and a character name for every slot, and Noctis's sprite is captioned FINAL FANTASY XV. His profile as the crown prince of Lucis pointed at the same slot, so the two agree; the difference is that the pairing is now printed rather than inferred.
Legacy heroes' vision crystals wait inside the sanctums scattered across the world, and stepping into one lets you revisit a story from the original game before claiming the Vision. Every Vision is earnable in-game with no DLC, each powers a unique Resonance attack, and abilities learned from one stay equippable while a different Vision is active, within the cost limit covered at Abilities and Mastery. As with every Vision, the kit is designed from zero for this game, so nothing from the original title carries over. For the full roster of named Visions, see List of Visions.
