Final Fantasy VII Revelation reunites the full party for the finale of the Remake trilogy, led by Cloud Strife. The reveal showed the returning ensemble fighting side by side, and two characters who were not previously controllable join the roster as fully playable party members for the first time in the series.
Every playable character fights within the hybrid battle system and can be further customized through the FITS system, which swaps in job-inspired movesets.
Character | Combat Role |
|---|---|
Gunslinger. Lightning-fast ranged gunplay backed by his ferocious Galian Beast transformation. | |
Lancer. Closes distance fast for powerful single-target strikes or sweeping area attacks. |
Both Vincent and Cid appeared in the earlier entries but become fully playable party members for the first time in Revelation.
Cloud Strife leads the group as its protagonist. The reveal showed his longtime companions fighting at his side, among them Tifa Lockhart, Barret Wallace, Red XIII, and Cait Sith, each shown wearing the new job-inspired outfits of the FITS system in battle. Red XIII also takes the lead role in Revelation’s version of the Queen’s Blood card game. The full roster comes together for this final chapter as the party divides up to face the planet’s many threats.

Tifa Lockhart's outfit is the first of the returning party's to be named in official material: she wears the Black Mage set, opposite Cloud's Warrior set. She is also the character shown calling Typhon, a summon new to Revelation, in the trailer released on August 25, 2026. See The FITS System for how the outfits work and The Weapons for the planetary guardians the party is shown fighting alongside these builds.
Every party member has four FITS to choose between, each one a defined combat role, so the same character can be built several different ways over the course of a playthrough.
Zack Fair is confirmed to feature in the main story once again. The director has not said in what capacity, saying only that he is confident the character's followers will be happy with what the team has prepared.
