Final Fantasy VII Revelation uses the Remake series' acclaimed hybrid battle system, letting players customize combat by switching between real-time action and a slower, command-driven Tactical Mode. For the finale the system is expanded and refined with new playable characters and powerful new abilities.
Battles flow in real time as characters attack, dodge, and use abilities, while Tactical Mode lets players slow the action to carefully select commands, spells, and items. Players can switch between party members on the fly during a fight.
Addition | Detail |
|---|---|
New playable characters | Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind bring all-new movesets to the party. |
FITS outfits | The FITS system equips job-inspired outfits that grant new movesets in battle. |
New abilities | The reveal promises powerful new abilities layered onto the returning system. |
The series' customization through Materia returns as a build-crafting layer alongside the FITS system. Players who carry over save data from the earlier entries unlock bonus Summon Materia for Revelation: a Chocobo and Moogle summon, and a Phoenix summon.
Combat is not limited to human-scale foes. Enormous Weapons roam the world and stand among the largest threats the party will face as it explores. For where these battles take place, see Exploring the Planet.
