Reverse Engineering

Reverse engineering is Dreadnought Tartarus's primary progression loop. Intel gathered from defeated enemies can be reverse engineered into new upgrades and additional armaments for the TARTARUS.

The Loop

• Engage an enemy force (human, alien, or anomalous).

• Defeat them and gather intel from their systems or remains.

• Reverse engineer that intel into a usable upgrade or armament.

• Install the new system on the TARTARUS for the next engagement.

Why It Matters

Because the game runs as a continuous campaign, reverse engineering is what keeps the player's loadout evolving. The TARTARUS starts strong but gets meaningfully stronger as the player accumulates tech from the enemies they defeat.
