Removed the Steam trading cards claim, which the listing no longer carries, added the custom volume and pacing accessibility flags, and added the demo’s 17 GB PC download size
The PC version of DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World is sold on Steam and on the Microsoft Store on Windows. The specifications below are the ones published on the Steam listing. Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 11 | Windows 11 |
Processor | AMD Ryzen 3 2300X or Intel Core i3-8100 | AMD Ryzen 5 3500 or Intel Core i5-8400 |
Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 470 or RX 5500 XT, Intel Arc A380, or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 | AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT, Intel Arc A580, or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super |
DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
Storage | 40 GB available space | 40 GB available space |
VRAM | 6 GB or above | 8 GB or above |
Storage is 40 GB at both tiers, so the recommended specification does not ask for more disk space than the minimum
The graphics requirement steps up mainly in VRAM, from 6 GB to 8 GB, rather than across a wide generational gap
Windows 11 is listed at both tiers, with no Windows 10 entry
The Steam release incorporates Denuvo Anti-tamper and requires agreement to a game-specific end user license agreement
The physical Nintendo Switch 2 release has its own storage requirement of at least 12 GB free space for the first-play download, which is unrelated to the PC figures above. Console format details are on Platforms and Versions.
The Steam listing records Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, saving at any time, partial controller support with DualShock and DualSense controllers, a keyboard-only option and a note that a gamepad is recommended. It also carries custom volume controls and two pacing flags: the game is marked playable at your own pace and playable without timed input. Steam trading cards were listed earlier in the pre-release period and are not on the listing as checked in September 2026. Online play requirements are on Online Features.
The free demo is a much smaller download than the full game. On Steam it asks for at least 17 GB of free space, and the Microsoft Store version asks for the same. That is well under half the 40 GB the full PC release needs, and it is the figure to budget for if you only want to try the game before December. The demo is covered on Demo.
